Inspired By......

Script Greetin gs

Hello!  Welcome to the weekend!  I am honored to be a guest over at a new challenge called Inspired by: All the Little Things.  They choose some gorgeous photos to be inspired by!  I was invited to play along from Lesley.

This week's inspiration photo just screamed color.  I took the idea of color and watercolored some stripes on a trimmed panel of Tim Holtz watercolor paper.  I used Blueprint Sketch and Fossilized Amber.  For the butterfly, I pulled out an older but favorite butterfly die from Memory Box called Vivienne Butterfly.  (I used the Darla Butterfly as the "backer".)  I left the butterfly white and decided to put my sentiment over the center.  My sentiment, from Script Greetings from Right at Home, was black heat embossed on vellum and trimmed by hand.  I attached my sentiment to the butterfly with some Kool-tak clear adhesive.  I stamped my coordinating sentiment below the butterfly using my Mini Misti.  As a last touch, I added some 4mm Clear Droplets from Pretty Pink Posh.

Right at Home Mix and Match Challenge!

Mix and Match

Hello!  I'm here to share my version of the Right at Home Mix and Match challenge this week!  I love combining stamp sets and especially SENTIMENTS from different sets.  I'll share what sets I mixed for my card but first......let's talk about the card.

I love to stamp.  The Abstract Florals set let's me do just that.  Stamp.  Stamp.  Stamp.  Mixing colors and making my own backgrounds is something that makes me happy.  Here I've used different shades of Altenew inks to stamp my own background.  The little dotted stamps (there are several) in this set are useful for "filling in" areas when creating a background like this.

I could not wait to get my hands on the Script Greetings set because of the bold sentiments and the coordinating smaller sentiments.  BUT I pulled a smaller sentiment from the newest release set called Color in Sentiments and combined it with the bold "thank you" from Script Greetings.  It is so fun to mix and match these types of sentiment sets!

I'd love to see how you "mix and match" sentiments...........Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me!

Magical day

Be a Unicorn

Hello!  We made it through the nasty storms here in Topeka last evening.  We had tons of rain, wind, and a funnel tried to touch down.  Spring in Kansas!
Avery Elle

I have a sweet Unicorn card to share for Avery Elle Stamps today.  Using the Be a Unicorn stamp set and matching Be a Unicorn Ellements, I've created a scene using several pierced dies available from Avery Elle.  I've layered several Pierced Clouds Ellements behind a frame I created with the Double Pierced Rectangles Ellements.  My images were Copic colored and lots of clear Wink of Stella were added to the rainbow clouds and the main and tail of the unicorn.  As a last finishing touch to make this "magical", I used dots of Zig 2-way glue to sprinkle Iridescent Mini Star Confetti from Pretty Pink Posh.

Many Thanks and SPDSS49

April 26

Hello!  It's definitely SPRING in Kansas this week!  Warm weather followed by cool downs and STORMS, birds chirping, and flowers blooming.  Definitely my FAVORITE time of the year!  Speaking of storms, we are in for one later today the weather guys say......

So to honor spring, I made this card that uses one of the April Sugar Sketches over at Sugar Pea Designs (SPDSS49).  Lots of layering of colors (I used Altenew inks) for the flowers but pulling color from the plaid paper.  I've used the Funky Wreaths - Spring and matching Funky Wreaths - Spring Sugar Cuts.  They were layered over a Zig Zag Stitched Circle.  My sentiment was stamped onto a flag from Stitched Flags....it fit perfectly!

Welcome Baby

Hello!  I am sharing a card that was over on the Taylored Expressions blog Tuesday.  I features the adorable set called Hippo Birdy.  Of course there are matching Hippo Birdy dies too which makes this set so easy to work with.  I've used one of my favorite die sets from Taylored Expressions called Frame in Frame Cutting Plate.

The one thing about this card is that it is BULKY.  Adding foam dimension and a large button for detail, make this hard to mail in a standard envie.  Most often baby cards are hand delivered anyway, so adding this extra "bulk" is ok.  Don't forget to check out my post over on the TE Blog for all the details on how I created this card!

Mom

Banner & Wreath

Hello!  I have a "MOM" card to share today for Avery Elle Stamps.  Many of you know that I lost my mom just over 11 years ago very suddenly.  Way too soon.  So creating these cards is difficult but I do have a wonderful mother-in-law who I can send them to.  ☺
Avery Elle

This one uses the beautiful Banner & Wreath stamps and coordinating Banner & Wreath Ellements.  My "mom" sentiment comes from another must have set called Best Ever.  These sets work wonderful together!

I decided to break out a color I don't use often......purple.  I've stamped, die cut, and colored my floral images with Copics.  I arranged them in the shape of a wreath and stamped the bold "mom" sentiment in the center.  To this white panel, I used the Wonky Stitches Ellements to add a bit of interest to the border so that the deep purple notecard, from The Royal Collection Folded Cards, could show behind.  The florals were coated with Crystal Stickles......gives a totally different look than my normal Wink of Stella.  ☺  A perfectly done bow using the Bow-Easy and Sugar Plum Twine from Avery Elle was added for that final touch.
