Papertrey Ink Blog Hop--Touch of Gold

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to say thanks to those who have cast their vote so far, this competition has been such a fun time.  It really stretches your creativity.  Here's my collage photo of all FOUR cards I made for the last round of Gallery Idol.  You can vote HERE

Gallery Idol .

A quick post as I'm heading out to a ball game after work.  I had to play along with the PTI June Blog Hop!

Using Modern Basics, I stamped my pattern in Versamark and heat embossed with Gold embossing powder.  Adding in a quick sentiment from Bigger Blooms in black ink, I mounted the white embossed panel on a black card base.  For good measure, I threw on some big gold pearls!

PTI April Blog Hop!!!

Welcome everyone!  I've been having fun playing with so many of my "forgotten" challenges lately that I almost "forgot" about the PTI Blog Hop!  How in the world??  So, you find.....there are 2 posts from me today!

This month's PTI Blog Hop Challenge was: TILTED.  Now if you visit my blog regularly, you know that I don't do "tilted" very well if at all.  So this WAS a challenge for me but I had an image in my head as soon as I read it was to create a "tilted" project!

Using Maile Belle's awesomely incredibly designed Sketched Shapes set, I stamped the banner image in fun spring colors!  Can this set get ANY better??  I am in LOVE!  I also am in love with this new cardstock I picked up during SU's free shipping sale!  It's called Island Indigo and it's fabulous because it blends perfectly with Amuse Ocean ink!

AprilPTIBlogHop

I'll leave you with that as I'm sure there will be TONS of "tilted" inspiration today to drool over!
This week's Simon Says Stamp challenge is ANYTHING GOES.....so I'm linking up over there too!
Thanks for sharing your day with me!

October PTI Blog Hop!

Going to keep this short as I'm not feeling well today but I wanted to share the card I made last night for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  I was up pretty late so I took my photo today for better lighting.  Here is this month's inspiration photo.  I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as this photo was posted on release night.

The idea I had was to create panels of different patterns just like the pumpkins.  I immediately saw woodgrain and polka dots.   Then I looked at the white pumpkin and thought Embellishments!   (I love this stamp set)  And simply because I love those pumpkins in the photo, I created one of my own using my oval nesties.  I have been seeing a lot of pumpkins done like this lately.......Suzanne made a great card HERE with one of these pumpkins.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun on the PTI Blog Hop!!

August Papertrey Blog Hop!!!

***For my Market Street Stamps new release post CLICK HERE***

I'm a bit late to the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop party but I made it!  I just couldn't pass up that GORGEOUS inspiration photo and a chance to use my new Bloom Builder #3 Die.  I sponged Victorian Velvet Distress Ink to the edges of my Damask pattern paper and roughed up the edges with my fingernail.  My TANL leaf die was distressed a bit by running it through my Big Shot with the Linen IP.

I'm sorry but I can't stop using my pattern paper from MME.  This time---Lost and Found Two: Blush.
Everything coordinates beautifully and really takes the guess work out of using pattern paper.  My card also uses another Viva la Verve sketch for August (week 2) .......I'm challenging myself to try them all this month!
I did change the orientation of this sketch from vertical to horizontal as it fit better for my card elements.

Thanks so much for stopping by!~

PTI July Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the PTI blog hop!  I am currently away at Stamping Away!  You may ask, "What is this?"  Well, it's where my good friends, Jen Carter and Laurie Willison and I get together and stamp!  None of us could get away to the PTI Stamp-a-Faire so we thought we'd get together on our own.

Here is my card:

I took the color and some of the pattern from the quilt for my card and of course a butterfly!  This was my first time (i know i know) using Delightful Doilies!  LOVE!

Laurie was so nice to take my photo for me......my camera is currently in Boston, Massachutes on a vacation!  Thanks Laurie!  Look at this next photo for all 3 of our cards together........this pic could be in the next Papercrafts magazine, don't you think?  Laurie takes amazing photos!

Here is a picture of our workspace.........and Laurie's new craft room.  Love the paint color and it is so BRIGHT in there!  Such a great space!

We always look forward to our get togethers.  We have lots of laughs, good eats, and make lots of memories!  Last night, Laurie lost electricity and it RAINED!  Yes, I said rain and it was soo cool last evening that we sat out on her deck and soaked it up!

Enjoy the Blog Hop!!

May PTI Blog Hop!

Hi everyone!  I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks since my last post!  Sorry for the dry spell but life has been BUSY!  Not to mention the weather has had me so nervous that I couldn't hardly function the last several days!  But I'm here today with my blog hop card (finally) for the PTI blog hop!

This month's theme was flowers.......our favorite take on using flowers on our projects!
Well, this was super easy........I tend to reach for flowers more than anything!

I saw this awesome card by Vicky over at Lily Pad Cards recently and wanted to CASE it and this month's blog hop challenge was perfect!  I have been "collecting" Distress Inks lately with my Michael's coupons....anyone else like this?  Hehe.  After making this card, I can't wait to get more colors to use for flowers!  Check it out..........

There are several layers of embossed flowers and fussy cutting but I LOVE how this turned out!  So CAS!  I love all that white space to let the flower shine!  This shot lets you see the dimension of the flower.

The challenge over at Lily Pad Cards is to do embossing--any type!  I will definitely do more of these cards with these Distress Inks!  Well friends, have a great time with the rest of the blog hop!

{Thank You}

March Papertrey Blog Hop & CR84FN20

Hey everyone!  We have been amongst Spring Break here and I have had NO mojo lately.......I mean none.  I still have most of last month's PTI release and now this month's release still to put away but I did break out one of the newest sets that I just LOVE.....Sending You to use for the PTI blog hop!

I have some fun things planned for the next two weeks and one is this weekend!  I get the opportunity to travel for work and meet some of my blog friends in Boston......Suzanne from the Card Yard, Christina from Sea Glass and Sentiments, and Jessica from The Paper Parade!  We are planning on meeting for dinner and I couldn't be more excited!  See you tomorrow!

I used one of my favorite.....did I say favorite? color combinations!!!  It just so happens to be the color palette for CR84FN this week!  This month's blog hop theme was to use embroidery floss in a unique way.  Here I used it and made french knots for the centers of my flowers and then did some stitching as a border!

My friend Jen will laugh when she sees this card........we've been talking about this embossing folder this week and yes I have to admit that am a bit absent-minded.  Jen, I bought this embossing folder set a few weeks ago and wondered why it was familiar when you showed it to me!  I had already bought it!  That's what I'm saying that I have had no mojo........I hadn't even remembered I'd bought it because it's piled with all my things to put away!  Oh my.  I sure hope this happens to someone else!!

Here is the color palette from CR84FN this week.  Enjoy the Blog Hop!!

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge!

Hello everyone!  Today is a day I look forward to every month (other than release night).......the PTI Blog Hop!!!  I am going to keep this fairly short as there were sooo many wonderful entries last month and I want you to hop on your way to visit as many as you can!!

This month's challenge:

This month we decided to dedicate the Blog Hop to scallops!  We want to see your best use of scallops, of any sort, on a project!  This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops,  scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up! You can use dies, patterned scissors or even circle punches in a row to achieve your special look.

My card:

My scallops include the Doily Details Die, Medium Scallop die, and the scalloped wings of the butterfly from Love Lives Here stamp set.  I am beginning to have fun layering with all these dies now that I have my doily dies!!!  LOVE them!  :)

My fun color combo comes to you from Heather's new challenge:  Totally Hues.  Take a peek at these yummy colors!

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge!

It's time for the Papertrey Blog Hop!  I haven't participated in a couple of months but this challenge
was sure one I could do!  Here's the challenge:

"This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust!  Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold. "

I didn't have to dig too far for this challenge.....as I had yet to ink up the Love Birds stamp set.  I created 2 cards for the challenge both using the same color scheme.

This card is just plain CAS but I did add in a die cut open scallop from MFT and one rounded corner.
I love how this turned out!  I wanted to add some stick pins in there but it actually was too much.  :)
This card will be linked up over at Hand Stamped Sentiments blog for their challenge this week to use HEARTS.  Go check them out!

My second card was fun to create too as I used my new Edger dies from PTI......I'm in heaven!  These are so easy to line up!  Pair that with the new Mat Stack die shape and Music IP.....these are going to be some go-to tools for sure!

Here is a better shot of the impression made with the Music IP.

This card follows the sketch this week from Card Patterns.....sketch 99.

Now, you need to keep checking out the rest of the Blog Hop participants on the list over on Nichole's blog.  Have a great Blog Hop Day!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I couldn't miss the PTI blog hop now could I?

TAG TIME CHALLENGE
Recently the design team put together a variety of holiday tags that are perfect to keep on hand
for quick wrap options. Now it's your turn to inspire us and the rest of the Papertrey community! Design
a holiday tag or two using all of your favorite goodies and share it with all of us! We will all have plenty
of inspiration to create a large stash and try to get ahead of the hustle and bustle of the season!

I have to be honest that I haven't
been in the mood to stamp for a couple of weeks and I wanted to thank everyone
who has given me encouragement over the past 2 weeks.
I made just one tag as I have a house full of family and I am on call today
so I'm making this short!

My snowflake is punched with a MS punch and covered with MS glitter....So pretty IRL!!

Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge!

It is Papertrey Blog Hop time again!  A favorite time of the month for me!

This month's challenge was to:
"show off skills that you might have learned from a fellow stamper".

I interpreted this challenge as CASE'ing a fellow stamper that showcased a
particular technique.  Well for me.......ever since I'd seen Maile Belles card using the
letter press technique where she also combined it with dry emboss masking, I wanted to try it!!

Here is my version!

If you follow Maile's directions.....you will come out with a beautiful impressed frame!
Thank you Maile for the wonderful inspiration!

Have a great day blog hopping!  Thanks for stopping by!
