Just for you

Hi everyone!   I actually think that Spring may be here......today we are to have temps around 80!!  My kinda weather!!  It's the perfect weather for some baseball/softball games today!!!

I'm up on the Neat & Tangled blog today.  I wanted to share a fun technique that I don't do nearly enough but I love the results!!!  Simple masking.

I've made a sweet spring inspired card using the balloons from Just for You.  I added in some dots (these were stamped off once) from Party Dots randomly around the balloons to resemble confetti!  I've stamped one of Danielle's fabulous handwriting stamps over some of the hand drawn balloon strings........LOVE!

That's all for me today and thank YOU for sharing a part of your day with me!!

I like you a watt!

Happy weekend everyone!  It's supposed to be WARM this weekend here and I can't wait as baseball and softball start for both of my kiddos!!!!  After being on vacation where it was 80 degrees the entire time......I want spring here NOW!  I think it's coming though as our grass is green, trees have buds, and flowers are sprouting up!  None of this was happening before we left!  :)

I wanted to share a few more cards I made using the Simon Says Stamp April card kit.......this kit is still available and it's so much fun.  I just love the punny sentiments that were included in this set!!

I wanted to use this great burst image in behind my lightbulb so I stamped the lightbulb on vellum and layered the vellum over a stamped panel using the burst image in Sunshine ink by Simon Says Stamp.  This way the vellum "toned down" the bright yellow stamping.  The glitter paper and wood veneers are also included in this kit!

Likeyouawatt

For my next card, I used the colorful papers from the kit and layered 1/2" strips of the papers randomly on my card front.  (that woodgrain paper is also in this kit!)  I decided to focus this card on the stitched heart stamp and another sentiment from this set.

Brightspot

Remember, there is still time to get your own kit delivered right to your door!  Check out the kit supplies that are included in this kit.......HERE.

Top Dog Dies--Baby and a Giveaway!

Hi everyone!!  I'm so excited to share that I'm a guest for Top Dog Dies!  Guess what?  There is a giveaway too.......$50 of exclusive Top Dog Dies!!!  Read more about that at the end of my post.

Top Dog Dies is a new online store that offers their own brand of wafer-thin and steel-rule dies, along with dies from brands you already know and trust, including My Favorite Things, Lawn Fawn, Taylored Expressions. Savvy Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs. Top Dog Dies is also the leading U.S. retailer for Tattered Lace, a new line of intricate dies designed by British designer Stephanie Weightman.

I'm sharing a fabulous steel-rule die called Onesie Card.  I'm a fan of shaped cards......kind of changes up the standard size card.  However, this Onesie Card IS an A2 size so it fits perfectly in an A2 envelope.

Onsie1

I started by cutting an entire white card using the whole die.  Then using only half of the die, I die cut another onesie using pattern paper and adhered to the folded card.  This gives it just a bit more stability.
Tip:  To make this stand up (because it has a rounded bottom), simple trim the back bottom panel at a straight line leaving the front panel still rounded.

Onsie5

There is a Onesie Card Finishers Die set that can be used with this and it includes the most adorable finishing touches you can add to make this Onesie Card come alive.  You can see some little details I've embellished my card with using the dies in this set.  Just look at all the detail in this cute duck......and it even has a die for its wing!

Onsie4

Next, I wanted to show you that you can use the Onesie Card Finishers Die set without using the Onesie Card Die.  I created a small card........3 x 3 1/2 that can be used to attach to a gift bag or as a stand alone card.  I've used the MFT Chevron Border dies to trim the bottom front edge of my card.

BabyBear1

Using more of the Onesie Finisher Dies, I die cut several of the word 'baby' and of the teddy bear.  Gluing them together gave them dimension without having to adhere tiny pieces of foam adhesive.  I've added some black Enamel Accents for the eyes and nose.

BabyBear2

Here are the Onesie Finisher Dies........look at all the details you can add with these dies!!!

Now for the giveaway part!  There is a guest designer giveaway for the whole month of March.  The winner will receive $50 worth of exclusive dies from Top Dog Dies (their choice!!)

Visit the giveaway page HERE and enter to win!!!  Deadline to enter is March 31st at midnight CST.

Thanks so much Meagan and to the Top Dog Dies team for having me today!

Just a note.....

Stopping in with a card for the current Runway Inspired Challenge #56.  I haven't played along in a long time so I thought I'd better change that!

I used a single stamp from Be a Barista.......and went graphic since the inspiration photo was bold and colorful.  I pulled the colors from the photo for my card and stamped my own pattern and added some random coordinating enamel dots.    My sentiment, from Lots to Say, was heat embossed with a glitter embossing powder.  The whole panel was sprayed with Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer.

SWEET on You

Hi everyone!  I have a fun card to share with you using some Clearly Whimsy Stamps.  I don't know about anyone else but I can't stop using vellum......it's like an addiction (like my Chipotle habit).

I used the Sweet as Candy Dies and die cut 3 candies with vellum.  After stamping my "candy" (from the Sweet as Candy set), I simple used a circle die from my stash to cut them out.  They fit perfectly inside the vellum wrapper!  Nothing better than stamping your own paper.......I did this using the word "sweet" from the Sweet as Candy Sentiments set.

3.27.14

I'm playing along with the challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog to use something "TRANSPARENT".  I've used my beloved vellum!!!  :)

That's it for me today......except for laundry and more laundry.  Vacations are fun but work when you get home!!!
Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me!

Welcome back to Day 2 of the Neat & Tangled March release!  What did you think of that gorgeous sentiment in Danielle's handwriting yesterday?

AmyTinyTriangles

I've stamped the Tiny Triangles stamp twice onto a white panel with Delicata Golden Glitz ink.  The Congratulations sentiment is from the Everyday Labels stamp set and was adhered with foam adhesive so that a few glittery gold and black enamel dots could be placed underneath.

Lil' Inker Designs March Release: Day 3

Welcome back to the last day of the March release from Lil' Inker Designs!  Did you enjoy the blog hop yesterday?  So many projects to look at!!  You should have arrived from the talented Alyssa's blog.......but if not, you can start back at the beginning at the Lil' Inker Designs blog.

My first card uses a new stamp set called Spot On: Spring and it coordinates with the Connected Circles Die.  I've used it here without the die because Laura included a stem and leaves to make flowers!!!  So many uses for these stamps!!!  Pretty straight forward design but I've stamped my stems and grass from the same stamp!

AmyFlowers

Next up, is the adorable Bunnies & Bows dies.  I couldn't resist making some chocolate bunnies that were slowly being eaten!!!  I just adore these little bows die cut with pink cardstock and embellished with tiny glitter gems!!

Neat & Tangled March Release: Day 1

***If you are here for my Lil' Inker Designs New Release post.......please click HERE!***

Welcome to the Neat & Tangled March new release!  We have some amazing inspiration from the entire design team!

AmyMyFavorite2

Today we are sharing a mini stamp called My Favorite.  I am so excited because today's feature stamp set is another of Danielle's fabulous handwriting!  I've used some inexpensive Metallic Watercolors from Michael's.  I started by wetting my panel with water and then painting on the colors....doing one color at a time.  The shimmer is just amazing!!!!  After it dried overnight, I heat embossed the My Favorite stamp in gold embossing powder over the watercolors.

AmyMyFavorite

Here is a photo showing the metallic shimmer to the watercolors I used........so so pretty in real life!  I've added in some gold glitter enamel dots from MME.

Lil' Inker Designs March Release: Day 2

Welcome back to the Lil' Inker Designs March release!!!  Did you enjoy the blog hop yesterday?  So many projects to look at!!  You should have arrived from the talented Alyssa's blog.......but if not, you can start back at the beginning at the Lil' Inker Designs blog.

Today I'm sharing a card using some LONG AWAITED alphabet dies called Mixed and Stitched Alphabet.  I can not tell you how excited I am about these!  Another new die this month is a set of Stitched Butterflies.  These butterflies have the SIGNATURE dual stitching from Lil' Inker Designs!!

This card is a little out of the norm for me.......NO STAMPING!!!!  :)  I started my card with a piece of pattern paper that was die cut with the Stitched Mats: Rectangles to add some detail to the edge of my card.  After diecutting 2 butterflies (1 white and 1 pattern), I stitched them together with my sewing machine and added a small white clothespin.  Once I decided where I would place my butterfly embellishment, I used the "swirl" die (from the Stitched Butterflies) to show movement of my butterfly on my main panel.  Love this little detail die!

AmyButterflies

Here's a closeup of my butterfly embellishment........It was adhered with foam adhesive on either side of the center stitching.  This allows dimension and to allow room for the clothespin "antanae".

AmyButterflies2

Now, let's talk about this sentiment.........take a look at the whole alphabet below.  Laura has included some letters in both upper and lower!  I love this because it offers so much versatility when using it and it's so trendy!  For the sentiment on my card, I combined upper and lower alphas for fun!
