Christmas gifts

I wanted to post the pics of the gifts I made for various people this year at Christmas. I did break down and buy some Papertrey Ink stamps and I have to say.....WOW---love them!!! I will definitely be ordering more soon. I love how they have release parties, countdown, and NEW stamps every month!! Well, check out the link above for yourself if you are interested in clear stamping, new paper lines and new Palette ink colors. Now, on to the gifts I made.

This tin is from Papertrey Ink and was "lifted" from somewhere with a few minor changes I made. The red cardstock and ink are Papertrey....yep matching paper/ink!! The aqua cardstock and ink are SU. I absolutely love the versatility of this stamp set......Holiday Treats and who wouldn't like to get a personalized gift like this? These stamps fit exactly on Avery labels and they fit on Hershey nuggets!! This was made for my son's 1st grade teacher.

Now this second project is one using the bind-it-all machine...I love this thing!! I again made this for my son's 1st grade teacher. It is a magnetic notepad that can be personalized with a picture of her children. I did use TAC stamp set Forever Family for the heart and Build-a-Flower for the "happiness". The chipboard for the bases are just coasters you get from restaurants. Nothin' fancy!! Did you notice I also made a pen that matches her notepad?? How cool is that?

Now, we have various tins that were made for my husband's friends at work. I used another set in there this time....Can you see it? Yep, it's the Sweet Goodies stamp set from TAC for the tags!! To make the tags not so "white", I just used a sponge to lightly dab the white tags. This technique just "softens" it up a bit. Now, wait I'm not done yet!!

Here are the tins I made for my boss a.k.a. clinical coordinator and DON where I work. Here I got out my Alcohol inks and started inking them up. Not so traditional colors this time but I think they are oh so cute!!

What do you think?? Let me know!!

Did you notice????

That I have a new "look" here on my blog?? I am not so computer savvy but I have managed to figure out how to put on this very pretty blog background and title background. I so think this is my style.....I love these colors together and that little "blinkie" to the right is just so simple and says it all!! Let me know what you think!

My mini calendar

Here is the mini calendar version of the Countdown to Disney one from the previous post. Again I used Heather's idea and used an unknown pattern paper, the bind-it-all, ribbon, and her file for the calendar. I made several for Christmas presents this past holiday and they were a hit!! I like the neutral pattern.....that way I was able to use whatever color ribbon I wanted!!

Here's what I've been working on.....

My brother's family and ours have been planning a DisneyWorld trip for quite a while now and it is finally down to less than a month away before we leave. I made this flip over "Countdown to Disney" for my niece and nephews. They should be getting it in the mail today hopefully so that they can start it Weds. My kids are excited to start "flipping" the days over until DisneyWorld. I used Heather's mini calendar idea for my countdown idea for Disney. I think it turned out so cute!!! Now, I did make several of these mini calendars for Christmas presents last month. They were a hit!! Thanks Heather for the idea!!! I love how the numbers are right justified and can flip over without having to move the ribbon. Too bad these numbers are a retired TAC stamp set.

Birthday Invite

Here is what I came up with my son's birthday invitation this year!! He wanted Star Wars but I didn't really want to invest time trying to find a Star Wars set (if there even is one) so I found this super cute Space Changito set and knew that's what I wanted to use. The "party" saying came from TAC's Celebration Invitation set. I used my watercolor crayons for the color on the monkey/spaceship. The stars were heat embossed with silver powder. Added just the right amount of sparkle for a "boy" invitation!!

I also used this same Changito space set and colors for his Birthday card too!! Gotta get more than one use out of it, right? That is how I justified buying it.....other than the fact that it can be used for lots of boy cards in the future.

Christmas cards 2008

I just wanted to show you my Christmas cards I made this year. The first one uses the TAC stamp set Joy of Christmas from TAC and cardstock from Papertrey Ink (which I am LOVING the coordinating products). This is the first time I have used the Cuttlebug embossing folders and I have to say these are awesome!!! The swiss dots folder was used here. I went ahead and added some large hardware and ribbon tied with Scrapper's Floss. I think it added just the right touch. And of course, last but not least STICKLES!! Besides ribbon, stickles are my next favorite embellishment!!!

Now, my second Christmas card uses the same stamp set from TAC but using more traditional Christmas colors. With the tree stamp, I actually cut off the top and the bottom to make better use of the tree. On this card, I also used Papertrey paper products. The word stamp came from a retired TAC Christmas set from 2007. These cards were fairly simple this year as I had to make around 70!! Enjoy....
