SugarPea Designs / Mix it Up Challenge #38

Mix it Up

Welcome!  I am here sharing a card using the December Mix it Up Challenge from SugarPea Designs over at the SugarPea Designs blog.  Make sure to check out the blog for all the details!

This month's Mix It Up Challenge, it's an ANYTHING GOES challenge!  (see graphic below)

I've used the snowflake dies from the SugarCut Snowflake Tag and die cut them into a piece of white cardstock.  I layered a piece of thin vellum behind the cutouts so that I could layer this panel over a piece of polka dot paper from Spots & Stripes Brights Paper PadTo the centers of the snowflakes, I added some glittery clear gems.  For my sentiment (from Pinecone Greetings), I stamped it in Navy ink and layered it with a small piece of navy cardstock.

Avery Elle / Cool Beans

Hello!  I wanted to share a "cool" card for the upcoming LOVE holiday.  The Cool Beans stamp set is tiny but mighty.  With coordinating dies, Cool Beans is perfect for those coffee/latte lovers!

Cool Beans

I went clean and simple and created a light blue Distress Ink blended background.  I added a strip of red cardstock (that I stamped with one of the heart stamps from the set) and a strip of rainbow striped pattern paper from the Everyday Collection Paper Pad to the bottom of my card.  The coffee cup was stamped on kraft cardstock and hand trimmed out.  I did the same for the coffee cozy and lid.  The coffee cozy was paper pieced with some of the same rainbow striped pattern paper and a red cardstock heart was added along with a single clear gem.

SFYTT

Hello!  I am here sharing a card using the current SFYTT (Sketch For You to Try) over at the Reverse Confetti blog.  Check out the SFYTT post......HERE for all the details!

I decided to change things up and create a LOVE card for the current SFYTT.  Using the sketch, I trimmed a piece of text pattern paper from True Love, into blocks and layered it over a panel of Midnight Cardstock.  Using the Circles 'n Scallops Confetti Cuts, I added die cut hearts from XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts in Rose, Flamingo, and Piggy Bank Cardstocks.  A banner from Flowers for Mom Confetti Cuts (a personal favorite die set of mine!) was stamped with a sentiment from Crazy About You.

Avery Elle / Windmill

Hello!  I am here sharing a card to welcome someone to their new home using the Windmill stamp set from Avery Elle.

Windmill

I've colored this cutie "gnome" type of house in reds and greens.  All the little scene building images were Copic colored and die cut using the coordinating Windmill Elle-ments.  My background was made using the cloud die from the Picket Fence Elle-ments and some Aquamarine Pigment Ink to blend a sky background.  For the grass, again I've used the Picket Fence Elle-ments for a layered lawn by die cutting the grass twice.  After building and adhering my scene, I added a "home sweet home" banner along with a Cherry Hemp Twine bow.

Reverse Confetti / December Blog Hop

December Blog Hop4

Welcome to the Reverse Confetti December Blog Hop!

Make sure to check out the Reverse Confetti blog for all the details of this hop and for a full list of inspiration and information!

This time of year is all about giving.  I've made an ensemble of winter cheer for a very special person.

My card uses the plaid pattern paper from Warm Heart with a strip of Royal Purple cardstock.  I love these adorable snowmen from Cool Friends and I colored them with the same colors from the papers in the Warm Heart collection.  My sentiment, from Sentimental Christmas, was stamped in black onto a tag from Tag Duo.  I adhered my snowman and sentiment tag with foam adhesive and tucked a snowflake from Snowflake Trio behind the sentiment.

December Blog Hop

For my box, I've used the Clear Treat Box & Box Wrap Combo done in Royal Purple cardstock with an accent of plaid pattern paper from Warm Heart.  I added a smaller tag from Tag Duo along with a sentiment from Sentimental Christmas.  I adhered my colored snowman and added another snowflake from Snowflake Trio.  I filled my box with coordinating M&M's and added my tag with baker's twine.

Reverse Confetti / CAS(E) this Sketch!

CAS(E) this Sketch

Hi everyone!  I had to switch gears for a bit.  Back to some non-holiday cards.  To jumpstart my creativity, I always look to my favorite challenge blogs including CAS(E) this Sketch!  This sketch was perfect and simple!

For the layers on my sketch, I used paper from Cheerful & Kind pattern paper pad and a scallop layer of white cardstock using the Double Edge Scallop Border Confetti Cut.  To keep this simple, I added a few white heat embossed and watercolored blooms from Build a Bunch.  I added a stamped and die cut "hi" from Sentiment Essentials.  To finish, I added some Sparkling Clear Confetti from Pretty Pink Posh.
