Just look at how detailed these dies are!  Most of the little bakery goodies have impressed details to them where I have detailed them with a fine tip marker.  I had so much fun die cutting and paper piecing these yummy goodies!

My Sweet Shoppe was pieced together and layered over an oval shape done with the Nestabilities Essential Ovals Etched Dies.  Love the piercing detail around the perimeter!  My focal point was added to a neutral background made with one of the dies from the Kaleidoscope Plaid Etched Dies.  

Reverse Confetti / Sending Hugs

Hello!  

  I have been having fun pulling out some older stamps to play with.  I challenge you to pull out some of the older Reverse Confetti and create!

  One of my favorites is the Multi-Step Cacti.  These stamps are two-step and are so easy to line up!  I stamped, die cut, and arranged my grouping as I wanted.  Using Press 'n Seal, I picked up my images in the layout I wanted.  I set this aside to work on the background.

The background was done by masking off the edges and ink blending Bumblebee Reverse Confetti Ink darker at the edges and lighter in the center.  While the mask was still in place, white and black ink was splattered across the card.  The cacti grouping was adhered with foam adhesive and a sentiment was stamped from Sentimentally Yours in bold black ink.

Avery Elle / Elephantastic

I don't know about you but I jump at any chance to add a rainbow of color to my card.  The balloons from this set were perfect!  The images were Copic colored, die cut, and set aside so I could work on the background.

Want to create a clean and simple card but add a little something?  Try masking off some stripes and ink blending some light colors of ink!  Here I added some blue stripes (for the sky) and green stripes (for the grass).  For a extra detail, a 1/8" strip of black cardstock was added below my foam mounted images to "ground" them.  I love that the pop of black ties in with the black stamped sentiment.

Springtime brings the outdoors…..especially grilling at my house! 

My 25th wedding anniversary is coming up and I thought this would be a perfect time to share the card I made for my hubby.

Backyard BBQ is a fun die set that you can customize to your own colors……dress it up or dress it down. The images were die cut from various colors of cardstock in reds, blues, yellows, and black. To ground my grilling images, 1/4″ strips of coordinating cardstock were adhered to a light grey panel and then die cut using the Stitched Rectangles SugarCut. This panel was adhered to a panel of red cardstock. To round this out, a sentiment from King of the Grill Sentiments was stamped in bold black ink.

Ink to Paper (Papertrey Ink) / What do I do with this?

There is a new feature over at Ink to Paper (Papertrey Ink) called "What do I do with this?"  Ink to Paper recently started carrying WOW! Embossing Powders in the shop.

I had some fun experimenting with how to use this colorful embossing powder called Sunburst.  So I pulled out Cake Please because it has this amazing layering image that I thought would be perfect for this embossing powder!  I also embossed the centers of the sparkler images.

The cake stand and 'happy birthay' were heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Silver Ultra High Embossing Powder.  Love how this embossing powder gives a full raised look!  The cake was added to background that was impressed with the Border Bling: Dainty Deliveries Frame Die.  The cake was embellished with some florals from Cake Please and some clear droplets.

Pinkfresh Studio / Color Hues Challenge #16

I recently played along with the ladies over at Color Hues Challenge for their black and white challenge.  I haven't played along with a challenge in a long time.  Well......they chose my card as the winner!  So, I am excited as today I am the guest designer for Challenge #16!

I had some fun playing with some new (to me) products from Pinkfresh Studio.  I may have a *tiny* collection of PFS.......no really, I need an intervention!  😂

Curvy Floral Vine was stamped in Pinkfresh Studio ink colors of Lemon Whip and Sweet Mustard for the blooms and Misty Coast and Rocky Slope for the vine/leaves.  The Essentials: Braided Ovals was die cut out of yellow cardstock to make a frame.  The frame and florals were added to a panel of gray cardstock die cut with the Essentials: Diagonal Stitched Rectangles.  The sentiment, from Friendship Blooms, was stamped in the center with Metropolis ink.  To finish, a few yellow gems were added across the panel.

Here is this month’s Mix it Up Challenge!

I started the card by ink blending Broken China, Stormy Sky, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks over the Wave Stencil.  The colors of the challenge just screamed masculine so I pulled out Hey Summer to make a card for my nephew.  

The images were Copic colored, die cut, and added with foam adhesive to the stenciled notecard.  The sentiments fit perfectly in the space to the left of my bear DUDE.  (sentiments mixed and matched from Hey Summer and Hey Winter)
