January PTI blog hop!

Here it is another PTI blog hop time!  This was a fun challenge today!
Here's my card and matching envelope.
I used Heart Prints....one of my favorite PTI sets!!
I also used Holiday Cheer pattern paper to accent the front of my card.  I really like this paper collection!
Here is how I embellished the "inside" of my card:
Just punched out hearts from Smokey Shadow and Holiday Cheer paper and
stamped some heart from Heart Prints onto Rustic White cardstock and punched out!
The inside circular sentiment is from Love Songs and is stamped in Charcoal Palette.
The envie is stamped with "BE mine" from Heart Prints and a few punched hearts were added
to tie the whole project together!

Hope you have fun tonight at the hop!!
Thanks for stopping by my blog!

{Happy Valentine's Day}

2010 Calendar

This is a 2010 calendar I put together quickly for my in-laws for Christmas.
I've never done a "kit" type of scrapbooking before, but it was so easy and I finished it in a short afternoon!
This calendar kit is made by BasicGrey and has chipboard pieces, rub-ons, and punch-out papers.
Here's the front cover.

There you have it......a completed 2010 calendar!
I really liked putting this kit together except for one thing.....the chipboard pieces were to be self-adhesive but I found I had to add glue to them to get them to stick!  So, I just used my Zip Dry glue for these pieces.
I would definitely do another calendar kit like this one!

Thanks for stopping by!

A boy card!

It is no secret that most of us have issues with making masculine cards and for me that goes for "boy" cards as well.  But here, I used the Dino stamp set from BasicGrey.  I really like how this turned out!  This set
is very cute for those "boy" cards!

I don't remember where the "It's a Party" part came from!!
All the images on the background paper are from this Dino stamp set and
are stamped in Versamark.  The main image is stamped in Dark Chocolate
and a punched border finishes this up!  Oh yeah, I had to use one of the other
dinosaur stamps from this set on the envelope!

Fabulous!

Hello!  Can you believe I posted again???  Well, actually this was a scheduled post!  Still counts right?  I wanted to share this "fabulous" card I made for a birthday.

Oh, I LOVE how this turned out!  Especially that flower!  What about that "fabulous" sentiment?  For those of you who have Signature Greeting from PTI you know what I'm talking about!!  Dawn's signture handwriting paired with a wonderful font!  This card uses Turning a New Leaf stamped in Versamark.  A punched Bitty Dot section using MS Double Loops punch.  Adding a strip of Hibiscus Burst cardstock and Scor-tape with Prisma glitter finishes this card up!
Wait a minute!  That flower!!  My favorite part!  A few punched flowers stamped with Polka Dot Basics and Giga Guidelines, button, and twine make this flower just "fabulous"!!
Here's a close up of that flower!!

Hope you enjoy!  Have a "fabulous" day!

Loving this color!

I don't know why I've been using a lot of this color lately.....maybe
it's this crazy Kansas weather we've been having this winter!  So dreary!!
The color is Smokey Shadow from PTI.
It really is a deep smokey grey.

This card uses 2 stamp sets.  First, I used Vintage Labels to make that awesome
background using 2 different stamps from that set.
The focal image is from Sign Language.  I really like the versatility of this set...and
how cute is that flag?  It's hard to tell but the flower image is raised with a
pop dot.  The pink layer was punched with a MS daisy border punch.
Added a little Bitty Dot patterned paper as the "grass" and some
rhinestones to the flowers.

Christmas 2009

Well, I am finally posting my Christmas things from 2009.
This will be a long post as I have several things to show you so, here we go!

First up, is a stamped tin of homemade gift tags using various sets from
PTI!!  I love how this turned out!  The tin is actually one of those gift card tins from Michael's that I bought after Christmas last year!  Just added some stamped paper and matching tag in Raspberry Fizz and Ripe Avacado!

Here is another closer view of the tags.  The backs are stamped with To: and From:

Alright, here are the repurposed/recycled jars that my husband gets some vitamins in.  We had literally bunches of these because we just couldn't throw them away especially when we realized that the label peeled right off!  Wash out and whlaaaa......cute jars to EASILY decorate!  This is where my wonderful hubby got crafty with me over the holidays!!  hehe  I had cut some patterned paper to fit the jar and he
applied them all to the jars for me!  This helped soo much (especially since the majority were for his coworkers).  The lid was embellished with punched circle and scalloped circle.

Next up are the bags I put these jars in for gift giving.  Just a simple brown paper sack
but embellished with a handmade card tied on with a bow.

Here's a close up of the mini card attached to the bag.

We're almost done........just a few more things to show you!
Here are the little cards that are similar to the above but I made these for my kiddos to put
in their mailboxes that I've mentioned before.  If you didn't check them out, here is the link.

Lastly, a card I made for a friend of mine in the stamping world.  Pretty simple but
I like how it turned out!

And another view:

Well, what do you think?  I really enjoyed making these holiday things this year.
Hope this gave you some inspiration for your gifts!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #21

Have any of you paricipated in Dawn McVey's Color Challenges?  Well, I made a quickie card tonight to add to her list of participants!  So, here's my take on Dawn's amazing challenge!  My first!

I want to get this posted now so I'll come back later and edit!
Please forgive the poor photo....had to upload using my Blackberry.

EDIT:  I started with a Lemon Tart base card and stamped in Dark Chocolate a border of Background Basics: Diamonds.  I am so proud of myself!  I actually got it lined up right with just a little help from Miss Dawn herself!    I watched her video on stamping backgrounds today and I must say that I DID learn something from it!  I agree that lining your blocks and stamps with an exsisting line makes it so much easier!  Punching a scalloped border along the center in Aqua Mist and adhering a strip of Dark Chocolate offset the pastel look of that scalloped border.  Now, don't you just LOVE how this flower turned out?!  I was inspired by Mish to go on a hunt for vintage sheet music!  This is actually punched from old elementary clarinet music that I found at my local Goodwill!  I used this vintage (1961 copyright) sheet music as my "cream" color in Dawn's challenge.  Instead of several layers of flowers as the centers, I just punched several circles in various sizes and stitched on a very large Lemon Tart button!  Oh, those buttons!  hehe

Thanks for stopping by!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

That is all I can say right now....it is just ridiculously frigid outside!!  I was going to get my Christmas gifts/cards posted today but with this continued weather, I thought that I would post something cheery and warm instead!  So, my Christmas projects will have to wait!

This card is a favorite of mine!  Who doesn't love buttons??  Oh, and those colors?  We start off here by stamping the flower stems in Ripe Avacado ink and picking out buttons for the flowers.  Don't you love that continuous border around the main image?  That is just the coolest border/corner punch that I've used yet.  It actually looks like a mini Apron Lace....so can you guess what company made it?  FISKARS!  I went with some very good friends back in October to CKC in KC.  We had a blast and the one thing that I came away with was how to use these punches!  They had demonstrations on these punches.  So, when we weent to JoAnn's, I had to use my coupon to buy this one!!  Next, I layered my flower image on the bordered paper and sewed my buttons to both.  The background was made by layering several stamped strips of Polka Dot Basics II onto a panel of Lemon Tart Bitty Box paper.
Here is another closer look:

The main image is off the paper using a Pop dot. The sentiment is stamped just below the panel.
I did want to mention that I did use Tea Dye Duo to darken the edge of the white panel just a bit.
Don't you just love this?
