SugarPea Designs / Mix it Up Challenge #33

Mix It Up

Welcome!  I am here sharing a card using the July Mix it Up Challenge from SugarPea Designs over at the SugarPea Designs blog.  Make sure to check out the blog for all the details!

Since the 4th of July has passed, I went with just the sketch for this month's challenge!

I used Summer Scoops and coordinating Summer Scoops SugarCut dies.  I've layered my scoops (all stamped with pigment inks from Fresh Ink) onto a Zig Zag Stitched Circle SugarCut where my sentiment was stamped on the curve of the circle.  My circle was layered onto a pattern panel of paper from It's a Celebration paper pad and added to my notecard.  To finish the sketch, I added some banners from Party Banner Duo and stamped some hearts from Whatever the Weather.

Here's the inspiration and sketch for this month's challenge!

Avery Elle / Modern Alpha

Modern Alpha

Hello!  I am sharing a card that can be seen over on the Avery Elle blog today using Modern Alpha.
I wanted to really showcase these new Modern Alphas by adding them to my card via a sentiment strip and foam adhesive.  I stamped the blooms from Tropics in various shades of Avery Elle Pigment Inks (Magenta, Mimosa, Fizz, Aquamarine) and overstamped with a subtle ink called Fog (dye ink) from Avery Elle.  My alphas were also stamped in the various pigment inks and die cut using the Modern Alpha Elle-ments.  To finish, I added tiny black dots with a fine tip Sharpie.

This release is just fantastic!  I used the new Banner in Bloom stamp set and coordinating Banner in Bloom Confetti Cuts.  The flowers were black heat embossed and colored with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  They were attached with foam adhesive to a Pierced Round Top Layers Confetti Cuts that was stamped with the sentiment from Banner in Bloom.  To keep this simple with a pop of color, the sentiment panel was adhered to another layer but this time using paper from Under the Umbrella.  A bit of burlap twine and some matching enamel dots finish my card.

My second card shows off yet more of the amazing patterns of paper in Under the Umbrella paper pad.  The strawberries are from the new set called Berry Sweet.  They were layered over one of the new Confetti Cuts called Thanks Square but I've trimmed the word "thanks" out to use on a later project!  My sentiment was black heat embossed to really pop off the pattern paper!

Reverse Confetti / Countdown to Confetti Day 1

Build a Bunch

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Reverse Confetti July Release!
Reverse Confetti is releasing .....7 new stamp sets and 11 Confetti Cuts this month as well as the Under the Umbrella paper pad, new white cardstock, and SIXTEEN (16) new beautiful colors of INK?  This month's release is STELLAR!!    Make sure to check out the Reverse Confetti blog for a list full of inspiration and information on all the new goodies!!

We are starting this release off with a gorgeous floral set called Build a Bunch and its coordinating Build a Bunch Confetti Cuts.  This set is sure to get some love from me!  I can't stop white heat embossing florals and watercoloring them using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  It's just effortless!  I layered all my blooms onto a pinked circle die cut from Flowers for Mom Confetti Cuts.  I use this basic shape ALL THE TIME.  Here it's perfect for layering my blooms ahead of time and then adding them to a top folding notecard that was layered with a panel of Mist Cardstock and the new Squared Off Cover Panel.  I went bold with the sentiment, from Sentiment Essentials, done in crisp black Versafine ink and die cut.  After adding my sentiment to the panel, I added some clear sparkling confetti from Pretty Pink Posh.

Avery Elle / Vellum Layering

Sentimental Too

Hello!  I am sharing a card that can be seen over on the Avery Elle blog today using Sentimental Too.
If this card looks muted, it is!  I've done some "Vellum Layering".  I love to do this technique to "soften" the look of a pattern paper that I want to use but is just too bold for the card.  Here I've trimmed down a grey polka dot paper from The Neutral Collection and a piece of vellum, both of which were die cut with the Double Pierced Rectangles Elle-ments.  My The main image from Floral Bouquet was white heat embossed and colored in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.  This was added so that I could adhere my vellum panel over the polka dot paper.  My sentiment comes from Sentimental Too and I just LOVE this set!  It has coordinating smaller sentiments that you can pair either with a die cut word or the same word but in a stamp!  I decided to white heat emboss the smaller sentiments onto dark grey cardstock and trim the ends at an angle and then I added the die cut word "you" along with some clear sparkling confetti from Pretty Pink Posh.
