The Ton / Fall 2018 Release Blog Hop

Welcome to The Ton’s Fall 2018 Release blog hop!  For this release, The Ton has debuted 11 new stamps and a new pop up floral die. There are free gifts with purchase promotions also!  My first card uses the beautiful set:  Blizzard Hugs.  I silver heat embossed these gorgeous snowflakes onto Bristol Smooth cardstock and then ink blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over the snowflakes leaving some areas white.  A sentiment strip (also silver heat embossed) was added with foam adhesive along with some silver sequins.

My second card uses the Wonderland Print set (2- 6x8 stamp sets).  I combined the images and stamped them with various colors from The Ton Couture Color of inks.

I stamped my sentiment directly in the center with bold black ink.  I added 2 strips of Washi tape cardstock stripes to the left/right of the panel.  This was all adhered to a green cardstock panel.

Technique Tuesday / WCMD Blog Hop

Welcome back to another post for World Card Making Day!  Technique Tuesday has a special release stamp set called You're Owlsome just to celebrate this day!  

The You're Owlsome stamps is the FREE stamp set with a $30 purchase for WCMD.  I created a simple stenciled cloud background and added a standard stitched frame.  I colored my owl with hues of turquoise and grey, die cut and added to my scene above my sentiment.  This will be perfect masculine card!!

The possibilities with this Diagonal Plaid Cover Up Die are endless!  I have layered a grey and turquoise layer over a white notecard.  I added several Snowflake Dies over a strip of vellum to ground my "Wish" die cut sentiment, from Brush Script Christmas Word Dies, out of silver glitter cardstock.  To finish, I added a few silver gems!

Avery Elle / Fireside

Hello!  I'm here with a card using the Fireside stamps and coordinating dies from Avery Elle.  I thought I would focus on showing off the wreath image from this set.  

TIP:  One thing about a "coloring" set that I get stuck on sometimes is that I want to Copic color everything.  While I enjoy coloring, adding color using Distress Inks over heat embossed images is always amazing to me!  

All 3 wreaths were white heat embossed and using Twisted Citron and Candied Apple Distress Inks for the bows.  This TIP is such an easy and quick technique to add colors to your projects!  I arranged my wreaths, added the bows, and some gems.  For the sentiment, I stamped Warm Wishes directly on the cardstock with a raised sentiment.  To finish, a few light turquoise gems were added!

Queen & Co. / Monster Mash

 

Hello!  

I'm here with some cards using the new pom pom Monster Mash Kit from Queen & Co.  The papers alone are swoon worthy!  So perfect for Halloween or a special birthday!

For my first card, I created a purple pom pom monster and gave it green horns, arms, and legs die cut out of green pattern paper from the 6x6 Fright Night paper pad.  

To keep this simple, I layered up some pattern paper for the background and banners to ground my monster.  To give this some sparkle, I added some Halo embellishments.

My second card, uses lots of pattern paper again from Fright Night 6x6 paper pad.  I created an orange pom pom monster for this Halloween card that is perfect to give to a youngster!  

I used this layout as it really gives the pattern papers a time to shine besides, it is fun to mix and match!  I added some Orange and Turquoise Goosebump embellishments.

SugarPea Designs / Mix It Up Challenge #48

I am here sharing a card using the October Mix it Up Challenge from SugarPea Designs over at the SugarPea Designs blog.

For this month's challenge, I used the inspiration portion of the Mix It Up Challenge but specifically the color scheme.  (see graphic below).

I just got back from spending 4 days at The Whatever Craft House for my bi-annual retreat.  I couldn't help but do a take on both the colors of the inspiration photo and all the banners hanging in the Craft House!  I used Celebrate All The Things to stamp all the banner pieces in rainbow colors.  They were hand cut out and adhered with foam adhesive squares.  A few red gems (Studio Katia) and a bold black sentiment finish my card.

Using the Luscious Grapes stamps, the main image was black heat embossed.  The image was then painted with a pearlescent watercolor palette.  The image was layered over a white impressed panel of cardstock.  The sentiment is a die cut layered sentiment and a coordinating sentiment strip.  To finish, a few silver gems were added.
