OTWC #37

It is time for another Off The Wall Craftiness color challenge!
This is another great color palette in monochromatic colors:
pinks

My card today for this challenge is another "love" card......I know I must
still be in a Valentine groove since the release of the newest stamp set from
Wilson Designs, called Ride Away With Me.  But I do love me some PINK!
I used one of my favorite favorite PTI stamp sets:  Heart Prints.
I have the coordinating punches that make this set so easy to use but I'll
bet PTI will have heart dies that come out soon!

I had such a great time making this card......my 5yr old daughter helped me!
Well, as much as she could sitting on my lap that is!  I was stumped as to what shade
of pink button to flag the sides when my daughter said, "What about this flower one mommy?"
Oh how sweet that was......she was right as I LOVE the buttons she picked out!
I was going for something much lighter.  :)

This week's sponsor is Just Imagine Crafts and there is a great prize
up for grabs too!

I'm sending this over to Caardvarks for their current challenge of monochromatic cards.
It also looks like it's the last challenge from them too.  Go link up a card!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog and leaving such sweet comments about my cards over
the past week (it's been busy here!).  I know how much time it takes and I appreciate
each and every comment!

Build a Doily....Part 2

Ok, I really can't stop now!  I am having soo much fun making my own doilies!!  I had some more time yesterday to make more.  For this card.....I used one of my favorite color combinations.
Used lots of elements on this one and thus took me a bit more time to complete (not the doily but the
rest of the card!).  Once you get started making a doily, it really comes together pretty quick!

Here's what stamp sets the elements came from to make my doily:
Borders and Corners:  Circles---inner double ringed circle, flower image in inner circle, and scallops
Guidelines Two---center medallion
Simply Stationery---image surrounding the center medallion and images in scallops
Tea For Two Additions---"enjoy" stamp

I wanted to use my Morroccan Motifs impression plate again and I thought why not use that tiny image from Tea For Two Additions inside the impressions!  It fit perfectly!  I inked up that impressed strip with Chamomile ink so that the impressed areas showed up a bit more.  I finished up with more wrinkle ribbon from etsy and tied on a tea cup and a Simply Chartreuse shanked button.  I did want to mention that I colored on my center brad with some copics to darken it a bit as it was a "gold" color before.

Seriously, you may not have seen the last of the doilies from me!
I'm kinda liking the vintagy look too!

{Enjoy}

Build a Doily.......

Can you say fun?  This tutorial by Betsy was incredible......I mean how incredibly creative is this?
I had to get to my stamp room and try my own doily!!  As someone on the PTI forum
said, "this is addictive!"  That is an understatement!!

For this doily, I broke a stamp set that I've never used before ......Border and Corners:  Circle.
The large triple lined circle is from this set as is the "scallops" around the outside just inking up half of them.  The little scrolly image just inside the big circle is also from this set too!  Now for the inside of the doily.....the two other images are from Simply Stationery.  The final image used to my doily was from the set
Vintage Labels.....the scrolly image inside the scallops.  So 3 total sets used to make this!!

Now I don't do vintage very well but I knew I would have to TRY when using a doily!!
I paired my doily card with LOTS of Chamomile tea dye ink and some wrinkle ribbon I bought on
an Etsy shop a while back called PrairieBirdBoutique and used the Chamomile ink as well as dabs of Chai ink to make it vintage.  The fun vintage crocheted trim is a find from a garage sale this summer.  It was neatly wrapped up and tied with ribbon for 25cents or something crazy like that!

So why don't you give this a try.....it was sooo fun!!
I'd love to hear what you think about this!
