A farewell...........

This is a farewell post for my term over at CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!  It's been fun to share over at CAS-ual Fridays but all good things must "move on" as I say!

This week's challenge is goodbye or farewell cards that are long (2 x 4, 4 x 6 etc)
*It's a 1 week challenge and the sponsor this week.......CAS-ual Fridays!!*

I've been seeing lots of watercoloring out there lately so I thought I'd do a resist watercolor.  I've stamped my sentiment (Treasured Words by Verve) and then clear heat embossed my floral image (Surely Goodness by Verve).  Taking Worn Lipstick and Shabby Shutters Distress Inks........I very quickly watercolored using my waterbrush over my floral image taking care to be a "little" messy outside the lines a bit for that true watercolor look.  If you know me at all, you know that I love my Distress Inks!

2.14.14

After my image was completely dry, I attached it to a Berry Sorbet card base.  The splotches across my card are made with Smooch Spritz Vanilla Shimmer over the entire surface......it's so shimmery in real life!  I still wanted to be able to use an A2 envie for this card so I simply trimmed it to 3 1/2 on the short side.

Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: Embossing

Welcome back to another edition of the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!  This week's challenge is all about embossing.....any kind is fine!  Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Ellen Hutson!!!

I often forget about embossing folders but they give such amazing dimension and I really should use them more often!.  So I decided to use dry embossing for my card today.  I've used a Sizzix embossing folder......no idea what it's called as I borrowed it from a friend!

I've embossed just the lower portion front portion of my card base.  I have then layered a red border to my Merry Christmas panel and adhered using foam adhesive.

Merry Christmas

Remember this challenge is sponsored by Ellen Hutson......so the winner will get to do a little shopping!!!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: Fall Colors & a Leaf

Welcome back to another episode of CAS-ual Fridays!!!  This week's challenge is all about
FALL!!  We want to see those CAS cards using FALL colors and at least 1 leaf!

I've used these awesome Leaf die cuts from Lawn Fawn in white cardstock and sponged some of my Distress Inks to achieve the fallish colors I was going for.  My sentiment is from Forever Fall by Reverse Confetti.  My white panel is popped up with foam adhesive and wrapped with twine from Lawn Trimmings from Lawn Fawn.

CAS-ual Fridays: Back to School

It's finally here!  I'm so super excited to be sharing my first card as a Girl Friday over at CAS-ual Fridays!   Since it's officially September and the start of most schools by now, we are celebrating Back to School!

So the challenge for the next TWO weeks is to create a CAS Back to School project.  Our fabulous sponsor this week is Ellen Hutson!  The winner of this challenge will earn a $25 store credit to use!

I can never have enough teacher cards......there's the classroom teacher, the band teacher, the art teacher, etc. and the list goes on.  So I used this opportunity to whip up this CAS thanks teacher card!  I've used a Paper Smooches stamp set called Smarty Pants to stamp my images and colored in some areas with Copics onto a grid pattern paper from 24 seven by Simple Stories.  My apple is popped up for dimension and glossy accents applied.  I've given texture to an otherwise plain card using an impression plate from PTI called Rustic Burlap.

ME August Photo Inspiration Challenge

I knew I wanted to play along with the Mama Elephant Inspiration Challenge as soon as it was posted......Well, it's the last day and here I am!

I was inspired by the black stripes and the "love" theme from the photo.  I've used Trifecta and stamped the arrow border in the blackest black ink.....Onyx Black Versafine.  I stamped my frame and die cut the center out, backed it with yellow cardstock, and popped the whole panel with foam tape.  My sentiment was stamped on vellum with StazOn.
