Sponging with a stencil

Welcome to 2016!  I officially took 2 weeks off from crafting to enjoy the holidays (and birthdays in our family).  I sure enjoyed the time off but now that those are all over it's time to get started on some cards for the rest of the new year.  So stay tuned as there are some amazing new releases right around the corner!!!!  :)

Here's a birthday card I created and shared over on the Taylored Expressions blog earlier this week.  It uses a great die as a "stencil" along with some sponge daubers to add color.  I love how this background turned out!

Don't forget to check out the post linked above for the full tutorial on how I created my background!

Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me!

LOVE the background. Your technique looks simple, but I know it took time so that you kept with the original colors without mixing....awesome card love the sentiment in black to stand out from the colorful background.

This is the perfect 'happy' birthday card! Love the color palette you've chosen and the stenciled background is amazing!! Great font on that sentiment too. Happy New Year to you as well. Bev
