SugarPea Designs / Mix It Up Challenge #47

MIU47
Welcome!
I am here sharing a card using the September Mix it Up Challenge from SugarPea Designs over at the SugarPea Designs blog.
Make sure to check out the blog for all the details!

For this month's challenge, I used the sketch portion of the Mix It Up Challenge.  (see graphic below).

A tag is always a good way to add a focal point to a card.  The Gift Tag Die SugarCut was die cut out of some Distress Oxide ink blended cardstock.
The tag was layered over some purple/white striped paper from Spots & Stripes Brights Paper Pad.
I added some die cuts from Hocus Pocus SugarCut and a stamped sentiment from Bewitched.

Reverse Confetti / Countdown to Confetti Day 1

Frightening Friends

Hello and welcome to Day 1 of the Reverse Confetti September Release!
Reverse Confetti is releasing ..... 7 new stamp sets and 9 Confetti Cuts this month as well as the Abundant Autumn paper pad.
This release should get you in the mood for all the fall holidays!

Make sure to check out the Reverse Confetti blog for a list full of inspiration and information on all the new goodies!!

First up for this release is the Frightening Friends and Frightening Friends Confetti Cuts by Dawn Machell.  These are beyond adorable!

I created a little scene using the new Bags & Tags Confetti Creator as a backdrop using pattern paper from Abundant Autumn.  I created the background as a shaker card using various seed beads and sequins.  I colored my images with Copic markers and added them to the front of the shaker.  To finish, a simple black sentiment strip was added to the top.

Now to share more with the Bags & Tags Creator as a treat holder or a bag!  I created a treat tent of sorts (die cut 2 panels, score the same place on both panels, and adhere together.  I went one step further and added a hot pink layer of cardstock as the flap.

Bags & Tags

I embellished the front with more images from Frightening Friends and a tag from Bags & Tags Creator using the stamp set Boo Yea.  I tied the tag off with black/white twine (from Avery Elle) and added some chunky black gems.  I am giving this to my daughter and adhere a gift card in the center.  Candy is not so important to her as it used to be!

Avery Elle / Corner Sentiments Holiday

Corner Sentiments Holiday

Hello!
The holidays will be here before you know it.  While I do send holiday cards, they tend to be more clean and simple with the rush rush of the holiday season.  My card could easily be created in multiples.
I started with white heat embossing one of the sentiments from Corner Sentiments Holiday in the lower left corner.  After embossing, Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Inks were blended over the top for an ombre look.  To keep my sentiment crisp and white, I buffed the embossing with a paper towel.

Corner Sentiments Holiday2

I added some stamped snowflakes from Quirky Christmas using the same Distress Inks.  For a bit of fun, I added 2 stamped trees also from Quirky Christmas.....one in Celery Pigment Ink and one in Magenta Pigment Ink.  They were die cut using the coordinating Quirky Christmas Elle-ments, added with foam adhesive, and embellished with drops of Stickles for ornaments.

Color Throwdown / Lots of Leaves from The Stamp Market

Lots of Leaves

Hello!  I am so honored to share a card as a Guest Designer for the Color Throwdown Challenge!  These colors are sure to get you inspired!

This week's colors are fall inspired and are what drew me to use this new stamp set from The Stamp Market called Lots of Leaves.

I stamped them in red and orange inks and added the patterns in black ink.  I layered them over a blended area of Broken China/Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  A stacked sentiment stamped in blue finishes out the colors for this challenge.  As an embellishment, I added a twine bow and some gold gems.

Please join me along with the entire Color Throwdown DT with this week's colors and create!

My second card uses one of the add-on stamp sets/dies which features the fun Chinese lantern images from Autumn Moon.

I Distress Ink blended a background and created a scene for my lanterns to hang.  All my images were Copic colored and added with foam adhesive.  To keep this super simple, I simply stamped my sentiment in black ink.

Make sure to check out the Technique Tuesday blog for all the release details and full list of inspiration from the rest of the Design Team!

I created an elegant Mandala focal point using gold embossing of each layer of this build your own mandala.  I stamped it just off the top of my panel for a different look.  I watercolored over the entire panel using Chipped Sapphire and Faded Jeans Distress Inks for a emboss resist watercolor.  I added this panel to a white notecard with foam adhesive and added some gold gems.
