Wee Memories Challenge #64

Well, I've been MIA since the big kickoff Blog Hop for the new Lil' Inker DT on Monday.  There is still time left to get your comments in.....check out the post HERE.  I have been enjoying the last week of summer vacation with my kids.......we've had lots of fun in the sun and some relaxation time too!  We had such a great time with friends at Schlitterbahn but came home a little sunburned.  So thankful that after the heat wave the MidWest has had that the weather cooperated for our swimming this week.  (it's now been MUCH cooler and dare do I say chilly?)  Yesterday it rained several times and I can start to see some green showing back up in our grass!

Alright, enough about the weather........you are here for the latest Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge right?  Well, today happens to be the first challenge of the month and we kick that off with a Blog Hop at Wee Memories!  You should have arrived here by the way of THE Jenny Suchin.....the first stop of the Blog Hop.

Today's challenge is sponsored by Graphic 45.  The challenge winner will receive a prize
package from them!

The challenge today is to create a MASCULINE project.  I chose to work with several stamp sets from PTI:  Grunge Me, BB: Simple Circles, and BB: Rock On.  Pair these with the coordinating dies for the sets........a perfect combination.  Love coordinating products!

The Simple Circles Border Die is so versatile.  I only wanted to use 5 of the circles here so I diecut a strip and then laid my die strip back into the die rotating it as I've done in the photo below.  Makes a perfect shorter circle die cut strip!  (I know I could have just cut the circle myself but I love the clean cut edge of the die.)

My card was made using the sketch over at CAS-ual Fridays for their challenge CFC15 and using the colors over at The Play Date Cafe for their challenge PDCC94.

I hope you will join us for the Wee Memories challenge this week................The next stop on the Blog Hop is AnitaHave a great Saturday!!

Lil' Inker Designs Kick Off Hop!!

We are so glad you could join us for our very first blog hop for Lil' Inker Designs. If you came here by way of Alicia's blog, you are on the right track! If not, make sure you start at the beginning over at Laura's blog because there are terrific prizes for those who complete the hop by commenting on each blog. There are only 12 blogs and you have a week, so relax and enjoy!  The end date for commenting is Sunday, August 14th at 11:59 PST.

Today the Design Team is featuring the Rainbows and Clouds stamps and matching dies.  Here are the graphics of what they look like:

So what's a Blog Hop without a project?  Let's get started!  I decided that since one of my favorite things about this set of dies are the wonderful clouds, I would focus on them.  You may have cloud dies, oh yes, but do you have cloud dies that give dimension and character?  With that I mean, do you see the perforated lines?  Those are on the die!  I love this little detail that Laura and Ariana included with these clouds!!!

I die cut several clouds and lightly sponged Spring Rain ink around the perimeter of the clouds.  I love this effect as it give just the hint of color on the otherwise white background.  Then to add dimension to my clouds, the ones on the rainbow are popped up with foam tape several times.

Next I wanted to highlight the fabulous sentiments that are just great to mix and match or use independently.  OMG seriously, look at the font!!  I adore that it is a handwriting font.  So different and unique!

Here is a closeup of the actual "to die for" cloud dies!!!  hehe  Now you can see details!!

Well, goodness that was fun!  Thank you so much for stopping by my blog on the Lil' Inker Blog Hop.  I hope I have given you some inspiration for the Rainbows and Clouds set.  I know it will be well loved at my house!  Please make sure you leave a comment on my blog because Lil' Inker Designs is giving away some pretty terrific prizes!  The deadline for commenting is 11:59pm EST, Sunday, August 14th.

Your next stop on the hop is my good friend Jen's blog......and let me say, she has amazed me with her creativity of this set so far.  I can't wait to see what she's created for the hop today!

Color Cue #5 with Market Street Stamps!

I'm back today with my first DT post for Market Street Stamps!  Did you know that Market Street Stamps hosts 2 challenges a month?  The first Wednesday of the month (TODAY) is the Color Cue Challenge.  The second challenge is the Sketch Challenge on the third Wednesday of the month.  Check out this month's colors:

I went a bit elegant with my card today.  Using the Celebrate Cake stamp set, I whipped up a wedding card with just pops of color.  A few Copic colors later and one impression plate, my card was done!

I haven't told you yet how wonderful these stamps are.  They stamp beautifully right out of the package.  They are a peach tint which does not hinder stamping whatsoever and are very high quality.  Please go check them out!!!

***Did you see the HUGE sale going on over at Market Street Stamps to celebrate the brand new DT?  Now is the time to go check them out and fill up your cart!

{Congratulations}

Did you see the news over at Wee Memories yesterday?  Jenny announced the first new DT member!  Yep, you guessed it!  I have been asked by the sweet Jenny Suchin to join her amazing team!  I love her challenges and now I get to participate in all of them.  I also wanted to take this time to point out my new blog header.......it's a Jenny Suchin original!  Check out her Wee Design blog for links to some of her work.

So have you checked out the latest Scrappy Saturday Challenge?  Use no less than FOUR colors.  Should be some amazing entries this go around and a Unity Stamp Co. set is up for grabs!  Remember our challenges are still bi-weekly until September.

Here is my card for my debut on the Design Team.  I've used some of my favorite pattern paper lately....the Fly a Kite Lime Twist collection from My Mind's Eye!  It was perfect for this COLOR challenge!  I also had fun layering those PTI dies for the focal point.

I want to thank you all for visiting over the past few days and leaving such kind words for all my "DT news" this week!  I have truly enjoyed reading all of them.....you are all such sweet blog friends!!!

Fun and exciting news!!!

I am so incredibly excited to announce that I have been asked to design for Market Street Stamps
This news has been so hard to keep under wraps!  Angelica and Jorge, owners of MSS, have been so generous and have made us all feel so welcome.  Thank you both!  I can't wait to see what the month's ahead have in store for us!

Now, if you haven't been following along with the Market Street Stamps Blog today, YOU are missing out!  Each designer was asked what our favorite MSS stamp set was.........Guess what?  They are giving away stamp sets galore..............All the DT favorites!!!  Go to the Market Street Blog and leave a comment there for your chance to win MY favorite stamp set!  If any of you know me, one of my favorite things is a good margarita.  With that being said, I chose Tiki Time as my favorite.  Such cute cute images and fun sentiments!

Do you want to hear MORE good news?  You need to check back on the Market Street Stamps blog at 5pm CST for another announcement!  Lips are sealed!  :)

I just had to make a card for today's announcement and using my favorite set!  (well 2 of them that is)  My margarita was stamped in Memento Black and colored in with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS.  Haven't done that in a long time!  And then do you see that background?  It is the Bit of Burlap background stamp.....OMG these background stamps are awesome!  They are the entire size of a card front!  No more lining up backgrounds!  (Now you know my 2nd favorite set....hehe)

Here is another photo showing my glossy accents to my margarita glass and the "salt" I added that is a must have on a margarita in my opinion!

Thanks so much for stopping by today to share in my excitement!!!  Make sure to stop by tomorrow for my first DT assignment.............the Color Cue Challenge #5!

Blog Hop for Laurie!!

The Papertrey Paper Dolls are hosting a blog hop today in honor of our fellow Doll, Laurie Willison, who made it to the Top 10 in Gallery Idol. We are so proud and in awe of Laurie and wanted her to know that she will always be OUR Gallery Idol!
The challenge was to head over to Laurie's blog, find one of of creations to CASE and post on our blogs for today's hop.

I am a little late to the Blog Hop but I'm sure Laurie will understand!  So, I knew exactly what card I wanted to CASE!  Here is my CASE of my dear friend Laurie's card.  Her card (CLICK HERE) was made for Round 2 in Gallery Idol.

I still remember the day we were at Hobby Lobby.......Laurie, Jen and I were on a quest to find this quilling tool to help us all roll these beautiful flowers.  Well, we found it and it makes the world of difference when rolling these up!
