I'm back.....literally!!

Hello to you all......I am back both from the annual TAC seminar for angels and back into my blogging! I have been busy, so in the next few weeks you will go back in time with me to review some of the projects/cards that I have made. I know it has been almost 3 months since I've posted, I must confess.......I miss it!! And some of you would say, you've missed it too (I've heard this numerous times :) )

First up, I wanted to share my swap that I took to seminar with me. I used one of my favorite stamp sets called Build-a-flower from TAC and my new favorite punches, the Extra Jumbo flower and Super Jumbo flower punches!! I love these things paired with button centers.

Next up, are a couple of pics of some of the friends I knew and now know a lot better!! We had lots of laughs and definitely stayed up way too late!! Here were my roomies:
From left to right: Jen C., me, Laurie W., and Diane H.

Finally, here is a group picture of all us angels that hung out together during seminar!!

From left to right: me, Diane H., Laurie W., Jen C., Barb F., and Brenda H.

There will be more seminar pics posted in the coming days so please come back and thanks for stopping by today!! If you are interested in a new TAC catalogue, please email me....I have a limited number of catalogues.

Guidelines 2

So, since I broke out my new PTI Guidelines 2 set last week, I have made a few things and absolutely love it!! Here is another card made using that same background "grid" for the previous card except that I added in some small burnt umber "flowers". I really like this added touch along with using some pearl gems this time. This is a beautiful color combination--raspberry fizz and ocean tides ink. I used another new EK Success border punch for the bottom. This punch could be used as grass or a border. Did you notice it also embosses? If you look closely, you can see embossed lines. I made this card for a very special friend of mine who I don't get to see as often as I'd like. It was her birthday yesterday.....Happy Birthday Dena!! Just remember April 30 is just around the corner!!

Wii Bowling anyone?? (and a card)

We were invited last Saturday to some friends "house warming" party aka Wii bowling party. It was a blast!! We had some "adult" drinks, a real "photo booth", and a Wii bowling tourney!! Let's just say I haven't had that much fun in quite some time. I even won hi score at 234!! (the host actually had the hi score but he gave me the trophy). Please disregard the "mojito" I have in my hand!! I did not over do it!!

Since this couple had just bought their first home, I made them this card. It was so much fun to make because it uses the new Guidelines 2 set from PTI. OMG, this set is awesome!! You will certainly see me using this set a lot. It also uses the new Mega Mixed Messages set that was just released as well. All paper, stamps, and ink are PTI. I have been hoarding those "gems" for some time now ever since I won some blog candy a while back so I decided to add some to this card in the centers of the flowers or whatever you call them. I hate the ribbon I used because it is so absolutely stiff to work with (from Michaels) but it worked and I want to use it up.

Here is a pic of my hubby and me in the fabulous "photo booth". Check out http://saycheezphotobooth.com/ for info about this awesome fun experience. They are friends of ours and everyone just had a blast taking pics with and without props!! Oh, here is one with props too!! edited to add.....wish I was computer savvy, I would delete the last picture of us and our friend. My husband always does something in the pictures.

April Fool's!

This has nothing whatsoever to do with stamping but I played a little trick on my kiddos for supper tonight! I made faux "fish sticks" and "peas". I told them to try it even though my son said, "It looks like a granola bar and it smells like one." Hehe. He wouldn't even touch the peas (I should have known better because I've never made peas before because I don't even like them). Anyway, I copied the idea from Family Fun magazine I received in the mail the other day. The "fish sticks" actually were pretty good!! Now, once they had tried them, we told them, "April Fool's" and said we were going to Qdoba for dinner instead!! We love eating at Qdoba on Weds nights because kids eat free with adult meal. Anyway, here is my April Fool's dinner--Enjoy!!!

Not so sure about this one....

I created this card a while back when I got my new Damask Designs by PTI in the mail. I'm not really liking how this turned out but it was the first time using this set and I know that there are so many other possibilities where this set is concerned. So, I just need to sit down and play more with it!! For this card, I did exclusively use PTI products except for the ribbon. I think what I don't like is that you can't really read the sentiment.....I should have stamped "off" the damask design first and then stamped. Now what I do like about this card is that I used my Nestabilities again to cut and emboss the panel. When I was done embossing, I stippled brown on the panel before removing the template. So it looks like yet another layer!! Here's a close-up of the image to see the embossing and sentiment better!

Here's a cutie!!

I told you all that I HAVE been creating!! Here is a super cute card I made for a little girl in my daughter's daycare who's birthday party was last Sunday. This card measures something like 2 X 3....I don't know, I honestly had like 5 minutes to make it and used some scraps I had in my huge pile. Check out Barb's post about challenging yourself to use those scraps!! Again I used a Studio G stamp (clear $1 stamps) for this one. These tiny stamps are perfect for creating that small card for a gift. I found these fairy sets a couple of weeks ago at Michael's and thought it was perfect to ink it up for this occasion. Lookee here, I also used another EK Success punch. I told you, I LOVE these punches! I colored in the fairy using my water brush and watercolor crayons. All the stamps used on this card were in the same $1 set. Til the next post....stay warm...it's still cold here!

I've had my eye on....

these clear stamps for a few weeks now. I "found" them while blog hopping, etc. and can't honestly remember where. There She Goes stamps are so cute!! If you haven't heard of them before, why don't you check them out? They have just begun their April release countdown. I think I will break down this month and buy some. So, since I don't own any TSG stamps yet, I had to find one that I love. My favorite card in the TSG gallery (check it out here) was made by Maki Jones, TSG Trendsetters. This set is one on my list for sure called Slow and Steady!!
