The Twinery/Market Street Stamps Blog Hop!

Today is going to be a great day here on the 'ole blog.  Today is the first day of The Twinery and Market Street Stamps Blog Hop!!!  If you arrived here from Katrina's blog then you are in the right place.  If not, you need to start back at The Twinery or Market Street Blog for details of the blog hop.

The first card I created was using the FABULOUS background stamp from Market Street Stamps: Sweet Lace.  Just look at the details in this one background stamp!  I am in love and this background will definitely get some major use in my cardmaking!  My sentiment is from Comforting Florals.  Here I've used some Blossom twine from The Twinery for a simple but effective wrap in place of the traditional bow.

For my second card I went a little more bold and colorful to get in more yummy colors of this awesome twine.  Here I've used the set: So Happy from MSS and created my own little floral flower bed.  I stamped the flowers and embellished the centers with tiny twine bows in Maraschino, Pink Sorbet, and Lemondrop.

I then wanted to point out my grass.  I found it very easy to make my own grass out of the Honeydew twine when you place 1/8" Scor-tape down and then start forming your grass.  For good measure, I placed a few horizontal strips over my grass again using Scor-tape.

Would you like to know if there are prizes to be had?  Well, you all are in luck.  The Twinery is generiously giving away one Ultimate Sampler Pack ($25 value) and Market Street Stamps is giving away a $25 Shopping Spree!

You must visit each blog, each day and leave a comment to be eligible for either prize.  Deadline for the prize giveaway is Friday, November 25.  Prize winners will be drawn at random and be announced on Saturday, November 26 on both The Twinery and Market Street Stamps blogs.  Thank you so much for stopping by today and now your next stop is  Linda

Birthday Flowers.......

**Please click HERE for my Lil' Inker Designs Release Day #5 post!!!

Hi everyone!  It's my post day over at Market Street Stamps and I'm here today with a fun, bright Birthday card using the flowers from the Comforting Florals stamp set.  I love to use a stamp set for things other than what it was made for.  This set is one of those!

Here the newest background, Cane, was embossed with clear embossing powder for a little added shine on the pink cardstock.  Since Comforting Florals is a sympathy set, I needed to search for a sentiment and I found it in the Celebrate Cake stamp set!!  You can also see a peek of another sentiment from Celebrate Cake on the inside.

My flowers were colored in with Copic RV25/R59 and the vase with BG10/BG13.

Thanks for stopping and have a great start to the weekend!

MSS Sneak Peek: Comforting Florals

Hi everyone!  I have been waiting for today's post for a couple of days now.  I am very excited as today is Sneak Peek day #1 of the newest releases for Market Street Stamps!  I have the pleasure of showing off this fabulous..........Wait, did I say FABULOUS new floral set?  Well, I did.  It's called Comforting Florals.  If you follow my blog at all, you might kinda know that I love floral stamps.  :)  So when I found out I'd be showcasing this set, I was soo very happy!  Are you ready to see it?

Sorry friends, nothing "simple" about this one.  I had the new My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two papers: Sunshine and just had to use these fabulous patterns with this set.  I also used the August Viva la Verve sketch Week 1 for my card.  My card does use the sketch upside down.

I had fun with some machine stitching and some diecut additions to this.  I thought paper piecing the flowers and glass of water would be a nice change.  My flowers were heat embossed with black embossing powder, colored with Distress Inks, and cut out.  Check out the embossing and stitching here.

What do you think so far?  I will be back more this week with other samples using the new releases!  So stay tuned!
