A little WMS......

Hi all!  I wanted to share a little card I made for the 1st WMS Bedtime Story Sketch.  I loved the CAS sketch that was posted and didn't want to pass up a chance at inking up some new WMS goodies!!!  I didn't get a chance to blog this card before the contest link closed so I only posted to Flickr but I thought it should be shared anyway!  Besides.....I got the sweetest comment from Claire herself!  (made my day!)

I've used the new Funky Feathers stamps.........an AWESOME feather set.  Do I need the other one now?  :)  Here I've stamped the feather in some Amuse pastel inks so I could overstamp my sentiment.  This sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to use some of those LARGE enamel dots!  (I know.....rule of 3's but I couldn't make it look right)  I also scored some lines at the bottom of the card for some interest and texture.

I'm going to send this over to the Simon Says Stamp...Anything Goes challenge!
Thanks for spending part of your day with me!

WMS Flower Show

So yesterday we had snow.......sleet......in APRIL!!!  Field trips and baseball games.......all CANCELLED.  I am soo longing for sunshine and blue skies and so are my kids!!!

So you may have seen a wonderful blog hop of crafters last week.......Waltzingmouse Stamps Flower Show.  Well, they haved issued a challenge to CASE one of the cards from the blog hop!  I have a very limited number of WMS sets and was determined to make what I had work for this challenge.  After all, that's what a challenge is!

So I chose this fantastic card by JJ Bolton.....who utterly ROCKS anything she touches.  Her card is so simple but elegant at the same time and I certainly wouldn't have EVER created anything like it.  She uses black cardstock and gold embossing powder.  Those 2 things alone......I almost never use.  So friends........here is my best version of JJ Bolton's card.

thanks

I worked with Big Blooms Chrysanthemums and Vintage Alphabet.  I masked off my chrysanthemum and stamped the leaves and then heat embossed.  I looked and looked for some gold cardstock and came up empty.  So I went with gold pearls and rounded edges to bring in the extra gold that JJ used at her corners.  Thanks JJ for the beautiful inspiration!!!

I wanted to take this moment now to thank YOU all for the warm congrats, emails, and FB msgs about my Stamping Royalty win.  I am very humbled to have been chosen and it has certainly made my year!!!  ♥♥

12 Kits of Christmas {January Kit}

I have been so excited to share today's post with you!  I am joining 11 other very talented ladies in a monthly Christmas card challenge called The 12 Kits of Christmas.  I literally can not wait to see what everyone made with this kit!  Each month the hostess sends out card kits to the other 11 members.  Renee started us off with a kit that just literally blew me away when I opened it!  There were so many goodies in there and probably enough to make 10 cards.  Boy did she spoil us!  She thought of everything!

Card #1:  Renee has been enabling lately and so I had an inkling she would be sending a certain 'window' die that she had scored.  When it arrived, it was love at first sight I tell ya!  Of course, it was the first thing I wanted to use.  Everything you see on my card (except the Pure Poppy card base impressed with the Peace be Still Impression Plate) was included in my kit even down to the twine for the buttons!  Now for that window........don't you just want to swoon?  Look at all that detail!  Sadly, I have not found my own die yet but am on an email list for one!

Card #2:  My next card uses another fun die this time from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The detail in this O Tannenbaum Christmas Tree is just amazing.  I added in some red pearls (that were included in the kit) and some of my coveted silver ones to embellish the tree.  I topped my tree with some Silver Stickles and layered my tree over some pattern paper from the kit.  I then used the red seam binding to wrap and form a bow with a jingle bell accenting the center.

Now since we are starting out this month, there is some awesome Blog Candy to be won by one lucky person who comments on all of the blogs and leaves comments along the way by Friday night.  (Blog Candy courtesy of Renee.......check it out on her blog)  Thank you soo much for stopping by!  Here is a list of all the blogs to visit and leave comments for the blog candy:

Christmas Tag

I am writing this as I got an unexpected day off today.......I was on call last night and had to pretty much work all night.  So after sleeping, I call work and they said I could have the day off!!  So I'm making the best of it!  I actually made this tag last night in between calls but didn't get to type my post due to the phone calls!

I decided to use some awesome stamped images my sweet friend, Renee, sent me a while back.  The images are from the Big Blooms-Poinsettias by Waltzingmouse Stamps.  So much detail in these stamps!  They were colored with various Copic markers, glittered up with some Prisma Glitter, and one was popped up for dimension!  Adding in a sentiment from Teeny Trees stamped on the double ended banner die, completed my tag.  After some stong encouragement, I am sending this over to the Christmas Tag Challenge at Waltzingmouse Stamps.  (Thanks Renee!)

I also used this week's Make it Monday technique to use any die for a folded tag!  I haven't played along in FOREVER but this challenge was perfect for this tag!  Stamped on the inside of the Mat Stack #3 Die shape, is the "to" and "from" words from Teeny Trees as well!  Did you notice the pattern paper?  I challenged myself to use Holiday Flourishes & Swirls paper from PTI for this.......I love the end result!

Well, that's it for me today as I'm going to try to get some wrapping done on my unexpected day off!  Stay tuned to the 'ole blog as Market Street Stamps is into their December Release and I have a sample that will be shown on Wednesday!  Thanks so much for stopping by during this busy holiday season!
