Crafty Friends Blog Hop featuring Concord & 9th

Concord & 9th

Welcome!
It's time for the Crafty Friends Blog Hop!  We’re a group of amazing stampers that share similar paths…and we want to share our crafty projects with you!    We’ll be hopping each month featuring a specific company or brand…and this month is one of my favorites.........Concord & 9th

Check below for a code to use at Concord & 9th for TWO days only!!

Concord & 9th is known for their Turnabout Stamps.  I've used two of them for my cards.
Visit the Concord &9th website and choose videos to see how to use these stamps.

Flower Patch is one of my favorites.  After stamping the images in four different Lawn Fawn colors (I kept them soft and pretty), the panel was trimmed down and added to a white note card.  To soften the card for my bold die cut flower, I added a layer of vellum.  Hard to see in the photo but perfect in real life.  The sentiment strip was die cut and added with foam adhesive.

The next Turnabout I used is Everyday Bouquet.  This set is a part of the Everyday Bouquet Turnabout Toolkit.  This Turnabout is a mini version.  I chose bold bright colors and kept the sentiment simple by stamping it in the center of the square die cut from the matching die set.

Concord & 9th / STAMPtember

Concord & 9th

Hello!  Did you know STAMPtember is now in full swing over at Simon Says Stamp?  This whole month there are new products released and one of the most fun are the collaborations they do with other companies!

I am sharing the collaboration between Concord & 9th and Simon Says Stamp with the new stamp set called Oh Hello.

I am in LOVE with this new set from Concord & 9th!  They have fast become one of my favorite stamp companies and they are just awesome people!

Using my beloved Catherine Pooler Inks in Rockin' Red, Orange Twist, Tiara, Lime Rickey, Fiesta Blue, and Pixie Dust, I stamped both of these cards for bold looks!  Shop for Catherine Pooler Inks HERE.  There are several stamps in this set that can be used for different looks and I can't wait to try more like this!  The tiny supporting sentiments are just amazing!

C9 Birthday Bash Blog Hop!

Wildflower2

Hello.....I'm so excited to be helping Concord & 9th celebrate their birthday TODAY during their month long Birthday Bash Blog Hop!  Every day throughout the month of August, Concord & 9th invited guests to showcase their favorite products!  Today is also release day of all their newest products.....I know I will be shopping!

Make sure to read on because one of my followers that comments below will win a $20 gift card to the Concord & 9th store!

One of my favorite Concord & 9th stamp sets is the Wildflower stamp set.  The open images are just perfect for some loose watercoloring.  I've white heat embossed my images onto watercolor paper.  With a No.2 waterbrush from Tim Holtz, I watercolored my images wtih Distress Inks (Salty Ocean, Abandoned Coral, Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Spiced Marmalade, and Carved Pumpkin).  Around my images, I watercolored Tumbled Glass to soften the look.  The sentiment was stamped using the Layers of Love stamp set and a die cut "wonderful", from Wonderful Words dies, was added with black glitter cardstock.

I have a set of encouragement cards to share using the Happy Hues Card/Envelope Pack.  These already watercolored and scored cards are perfect for creating quick and easy cards.  I paired them with the "You've got this" die done in black glitter cardstock.

A trick for lining all those word pieces up?  Use the NEGATIVE and some washi tape for easy placement!  As soon as you have all the pieces glued into place, simply remove the negative!

Merry and Bright and some WINNERS!

Shine Brighter7

Hello!  We have been under the weather with ICE this past weekend but thankfully we did not lose power.  However, many friends and family did......with some still without power.

I have another Concord & 9th card share today with the Shine Brighter stamp set.   Don't forget that there is still a SALE going on through today!

I have had so much fun creating with this versatile set.  SO many options!  Since the holiday is upcoming, I thought I'd make another card using the tiny tree that is included.  I began by using this swoosh or stem, stamping it down my panel, and lightly coloring it with BG11 Copic.  I then stamped a few trees masking them as I went and colored them with YG93, YG95, YG97, and E57.  To compliment the look, I stamped my favorite stamp, Tree Ring, onto the background and on a small banner to which I attached some of the Mini Sequin Strands from Concord & 9th.  I had a hard time capturing the "snow" I created with some pigment ink and glitter beneath the trees but trust me, it's there!  :)

Emboss Resist with Watercolor and a GIVEAWAY

Shine Brighter5

Happy Monday!  I have the pleasure of Guest Designing for a new stamp company called Concord & 9th.  If you haven't checked them out yet, what are you waiting for?  They have some amazing innovative dies, stamp sets, and extras like Happy Hues Cards (which I LOVE)!

I decided to change up the holiday mantra here and designed a floral card incorporating emboss resist with watercolor.  I've used Shine Brighter stamps and dies from Concord & 9th.

Shine Brighter

I began white heat embossing the flower from the stamp set onto Tim Holtz Watercolor paper.  Now while there is no "leaf" stamp, I was creative and used the "flame" stamp and added my own "vein" with my Versamark pen.  The leaves were heat embossed as well.  My images were colored in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then washed with my waterbrush to tone them down.  They were all diecut with the coordinating dies and set aside.

Now.....let's talk about that FABULOUS Tree Ring stamp.  I fell in love when I saw this!  I stamped the Tree Ring with Antique Linen Distress Ink and washed it with my waterbrush.  Here's the part where I wished I had stamped it onto watercolor paper but oh well!  I dried it with my heat tool and then overnight put it between some books to help flatten out.  To soften the edges, I added a little Tumbled Glass Distress Ink around the perimeter of the Tree Ring.  My panel was added to a top folding notecard that was layered with pattern paper from Bella Rouge by Pink Paislee.  I didn't adhere the panel all the way but left the corners somewhat turned up.  Lastly, I added some sequins from Pretty Pink Posh as embellishments.

Concord & 9th Guest and New Release!

Shine Brighter

Hello!  Happy Monday!  I am excited to share today's card with you as I am a Guest Designer for a new company called Concord & 9th.  Today ALSO happens to be a new release day!

Concord & 9th

I recently ordered some of these fabulous Happy Hues notecards/envelopes.  These are AMAZING!  Watercoloring at its easiest!  :)  What's even better?  The watercoloring pattern is on the front AND the back!

While I love the notecards, I must admit that I am frugal.  So I decided to trim one of the green hue notecards down so that it could be used as a panel for my card.  (this way I have another panel for later use!)  Shine Brighter is a new stamp set just released today that has matching dies.  There are SO many possibilities with this set!  I went in the holiday direction and stamped the tiny tree and ornaments inside my lightbulb.  Some of the new 3mm Sequin Strands were fixed to the bottom of my bulb and tied off with some silver thread.  A scattering of some of the tiny sequins were adhered with Multi Medium Matte.

I want to thank Angie and Greg for having me as a Guest!  I'll have more to share later!
