Card Aisle Inspiration Challenge

When my friend Laurie issued her Card Aisle Challenge, I knew I wanted to play along but I had to find some time!  After some design work was completed, I made a trip to Target today and found this card that I thought was so CAS.  I love the sentiments rounded around the flowers.

Here is my version of that store-bought card that was $4.99.  :)

Thanks Laurie for the fun challenge!  Can't wait to see you Friday!

Challenges....

I love to participate in challenges......they really make you think outside the box.  My card here is for several challenges......This one is a challenge of my own:  to use a new die I bought at my LSS the other night from MFT.   It's a new Rounded Banner Trio Die-namics that is debuting with the MFT September release!
This die cuts out all three layers you see here so that
you can have perfectly even layered banners!!  I wanted to use it as scallops here instead of as a banner.

I was late posting this for one of the challenges but here is the other one:

Practicing Creativity Sketch Challenge and OTWC challenge #15: A Combo

I am here playing along with 2 challenges:  Practicing Creativity Sketch Challenge and the Off the Wall Craftiness Challenge #15.  I wanted to play along with the Practicing Creativity sketches and low and behold the Off the Wall Craftiness challenge this week was color and their sponsor is Practicing Creativity!!  So I had to combine these two challenges!

My card uses You're Dandy stamp set from Practicing Creativity.....If you know me, I LOVE dandelions!  I look for new images all the time.  I found some really thin cork scraps in my stash and used them here as a mat and border!  I think I will be using me some more cork!!

Here is Alice's sketch from Courtney's blog that I'm playing along with!

Now the next challenge is from the blog of Kim Wilson called Off the Wall Craftiness and it was to use
teal and tangerine!  These are sooo not my colors but I had to give it a try.....look at her inspiration photo below!!  I see yellows in there too but she clarified that it's "teal and tangerine" on her post and you could add white, cream, or black.  So, to finish my card off, I added some ivory pearls and ivory satin ribbon.
When I look at the inspiration photo, I see beaches and the ocean.......just where I'll be next week as my hubby and I will be off on a trip to Cabo, San Lucas!!  Lots of relaxation!

Why don't you go check out these challenges??  I am having soo much fun with them the past week!!
Have a great weekend!

This challenge hosted by Katie was certainly a fun one:  What is old is new!

2S4Y sketch

I have been eyeing these sketches for a while now and finally got down to participating in this one!  I really liked this simple sketch and here is my version for 2 Sketches 4 You sketch!!
Used some new goodies one this one.....the Library Ledger paper and my Tea for Two stamp sets/dies.

I ran a small strip of kraft cardstock through with the woodgrain Impression plate so the teapot looks like it's sitting on the table top!  You can't tell at all but I tried to distress the woodgrain strip with tea dye duo but the ink kept blending into the kraft cardstock!  I guess I will try my dark chocolate ink the next time!

Here is the sketch from 2S4Y.....why don't you come play along?

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Papertrey June Blog Hop challenge!!

This month's Papertrey Blog hop challenge was a fun one!

"This month we thought it would be fun to focus on COLOR! We want to see your favorite Papertrey
color schemes put to work. Be sure to post the color scheme near the top of your post in bold letters so
everyone can collect them to use as a future reference! With everyone's different takes on
combinations from the Papertrey spectrum, we will surely build an amazing resource that we can all
utilize and fall in love with some new favorite color schemes!

One of my favorite color combinations of all time is this:

I have been secretly wishing that PTI would come out with a stamp set that coordinates with the scallop dies sooo bad!  So, I thought I would look through what stamps I did have that might fit in the scallops.  I realized that my brand new set All About You has circles that are almost perfect for the medium scallop die!!  Take a look at my dotted scallop border I created!!  Ohhh, I am in heaven!!

Some other things that I tried for this card were coloring the rhinestones to match the Plum Pudding color, cutting out all those leaves and the flower (I don't do this very often at all), using my new impression plates for the background papers, and my new Plum Pudding pigment ink.

{Happy Birthday to YOU}
All supplies PTI unless stated.
Stamps:  All About You
Paper:  Plum Pudding, Ripe Avocado, Rustic white
Ink:  Plum Pudding, Ripe Avocado, Close to Cocoa (SU)
Misc:  Linen and Canvas impression plate, medium scallop border die, pop dots, Spring Moss saddlestitch ribbon,
Bow-Easy, Corner Rounder (CM)

There She Goes**Mother of All Blog Hops!!

Welcome to the There She Goes Mother of All Blog Hops! If you have arrived here from Jessica's blog, then you are in the right spot. If not, I recommend that you start back on the There She Goes company blog  to get the introduction to our hop as well as the information you will need in order to enter to win some exciting prizes!

I chose to use Polka Dot Blooms for my hop today.....but I wanted to use it outside of the traditional "flowers with stems".  I used the larger stem image to make my own branch!  I really like how this turned out!!  I stamped it a total of 4 times and then just stamped my flowers on the branch!  Easy peasy!

What do you think of the colors I chose??  I am so a "PINK" kinda girl when it comes to using flower stamps so I wanted to challenge myself to use something other than pink!  I think I like these colors together!  One other thing with color on my card.....I wanted my Hawaiian Shores to show up on my Dark Chocolate cardstock so.........I first stamped the dot in Vintage Cream and then
overstamped with Hawaiian Shores!!

Something else fun I did the other day on this card was to use Ashley Cannon Newell's video tutorial on ribbon ruffles!!  Now, you can't see the full effect here as I covered half of it up with my image panel but you can see it peeking out!!

The last thing is that sentiment!!!!  I LOVE the little saying from the set Dance but it was too big for my card so I just inked up the bottom part and stamped on my image panel!!

Now it's time to send you on to Pam's blog........Go check out the rest of the hop participants and don't forget to leave comments for the chance for a prize!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog!
Have a great Mother's Day weekend!!

{Live like it's heaven on earth}
Stamps:  Polka Dot Blooms and Dance (TSG stamps)
Paper:  Rustic White, Dark Chocolate, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise
Ink:  Vintage Cream, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise, Dark Chocolate, Tea Dye Duo

Macabre Monday #001--Wicked Thicket

Hello all.....I had time to play today!! So, I decided to take a stab at a challenge. My fellow stamp friend, Barb, has started some fun Halloween challenges on her ALL Halloween blog called Haunted Design House. Well, the first one is called Wicked Thicket. She said "use those pretty spring images and create a little darkness". It was a challenge, I tell ya!! I do like how it turned out!! Certainly wouldn't have used this "flowery" stamp set for Halloween!!! LOTS of sponging with several different colors to get that look on the green cardstock. I got out my shimmer spray for over the flowers......my spray pump stopped working so I just "splattered" it over the flowers and rubbed it in with my fingers. Oh yeah, you have to have jagged edges on a spooky card, right? Got out that old edge distresser and went to town and I didn't even care that the paper tore!! Added to the effect!

Well, let me know what you think.....this was certainly "out of my comfort zone." Thanks for stopping by!!

Stamps: Spooky Sweets and Spiral Bouquet (PTI)
Ink: Fresh Snow, Noir, Misc. purple and green
Cardstock: Bazzill
Other: Pop dots, MS fence border punch, Shimmer spray,
Edge distresser

Now, I am currently waiting on my Summer Sunrise ink to arrive so I had to improvise some with the colors as I didn't have all of them!! Now, I did have Pure Poppy and it is just the richest shade of red you've ever seen! Wait my doorbell just rang, and what was there? My PTI package with my new inks!! Summer Sunrise and Ripe Avocado!! Now, please excuse my scan as my camera is all packed for the trip!! Wish me luck on winning paper for a year!
