Wee Memories #67

It's Wee Memories Challenge time again!  This week brings us a card that I can say I almost NEVER make:  CAS one layer.  Yes, I said ONE LAYER.  Do you know how hard this challenge was for me?  Me who likes to add layers, buttons, ribbon, twine, etc???  It was HARD but hey that's what a challenge is right??

I just so happen to have this cute little set of stamps called Gnomebody like You from Wilson Designs.  This week's sponsor just so happens to be Wilson Designs!  This sponsor is a bit dear to my heart as designing for Wilson Designs was my first DT experience.  Kim gave me a wonderful opportunity and it was a blast.  Go check out her website for all the cuteness......you may not be able to stand it!  Thanks Kim for being the sponsor this week for Wee Memories.

Like I said, I don't usually make cards like this but it turned out pretty cute.  I paired the 2 deer images from Gnomebody like You with the tiny heart and sentiment from Love Songs (Papertrey Ink).  The only thing was making sure everything was lined up correct!  That was hard.  I'd love to hear what you think.

Have a wonderful weekend!

{P.S. i love you.}

A slice of summertime.....

I know I said it in my last post but friends it's HOT HOT HOT!!!  Again over 100 degrees here yesterday and so I got to spend some more time crafting!  My card today features the newest stamp set from Wilson Designs:  Strawberry Lemonade.  I made one very similiar for the stamp release however I still had another embossed lemon border on my desk and thought it was perfect to go with the challenge over at the Play Date Cafe this week.  Take a looksie at this inspiration photo!

My inspiration came from the photo directly center............I think a cold glass of lemonade is one of the best things about summer.  Now for my card.........I had this idea since receiving this set to design with to add a little lemon slice to the side of my glass......sooo fun!

I also made this for the challenge over at Wee Memories..........anything SUMMERTIME.  There is still time to check out this challenge!!!

I'm off this evening to my son's last regular season baseball game.  Kinda sad but never fear......we are going to the Single A World Series this weekend in Liberty, Missouri!!!  Go Bulldogs!  This picture was taken early on in the season where we actually HAD to wear sweatshirts!  My little guy is the second one from the right (he's standing next to the boy without a hat).  They have improved soo much this season and I can't wait to see what next season has in store for them!!

GO BULLDOGS!!!

Wilson Designs: Releases Day!

Today you get to see all of the images from the newest stamp sets from Wilson Designs!  They are fun, summery, and yummy!  :)  No more waiting........here they are!

Strawberry Lemonade

Sweet Celebrations

I have 2 sweet cards to share today using the main images from these sets.........First, the cake from Strawberry Lemonade.  I paper pieced the cake with several layers of cardstock and pattern paper.  Then topped it off with 2 tiny strawberries from the same set!  And look at that font for all those fun sentiments!!!!  I am in LOVE!

Next is a fun CAS card using the main image from Sweet Celebrations......the ice cream truck.  I thought it fun to just highlight the mini ice cream cones on top of the truck.........so they are popped up and colored with Copics.  This little truck so reminds me of an ice cream truck that came around my neighborhood when I was growing up.

Well, that's it......Please go give some wonderful comments to the rest of the DT and our
Guest Designer:  Mariana Grigsby for your chance at winning these fun new sets!   We don't know whose blogs the winners will be chosen from!!

Wilson Designs: Release Day 1

Hi everyone!!  Today I finally get to show off my samples made with the newest additions to the Wilson Designs lineup.  Both of these sets have a fun summer theme!  I know I said this last month.......but I am loving these font choices for all the sentiments!!!

My first card uses some of my 6 x 6 pattern paper stash.........Emma's Shoppe Collection by Crate Paper.  I just love this line of papers....so mixy matchy!  I did some fun machine stitching to make a fun colorful banner using the ice cream cone!

My next card using this same set is pretty CAS.......:)  I do not know why I had so much trouble photographing this card.  The base is Spring Moss but it looks almost grey here.

Next up is a sweet little card that I had envisioned first when Kim sent us our stamps to work with.  These cute little lemon slices fit perfectly in the medium scallop die!!!  I versamark stamped and white embossed them to standout.

For my last card, I broke out those Distress Inks.......I can't wait to show you more with these.  I have soo enjoyed using them more!  Here I've white embossed the flower included in this set and then used 2 shades of pink Distress Inks and blended/shaded them here for the graduated effect.  The colors match perfectly to PTI's Berry Sorbet!

I would love to hear what you think of the images so far in these sets!  I think Kim has done a fantastic job designing these new sets.  There are some images from the sets you haven't seen yet because we always save those for Release Day.  So that just means you need to stop by tomorrow evening for the release to check out the main images!  Ok......remember to stop by all the DT blogs to check out their fab designs and make sure to leave a comment.  You never know who's blog the winners will be chosen from!  Happy hopping and make sure to welcome the very talented Mariana Grigsby this month as our Guest Designer!!!

Wilson Designs Release Day!

Tonight is the night!!  I will be sharing more inspiration using the TWO new sets releasing tonight from

First let's show you the sets.....wanna see?  Introducing:

Baby Rock

Teeny Bikini

So the image from Baby Rock that we were holding back was that graphic baby image.  Look here how I've used it......more of a soft subtle use.  Adding in some stitching for that quilted look and one button.  I know I know, you are supposed to put things in 3's but it just didn't look right and one did!

Not sure if you can see it here or not but I did score a frame around my raised block panel. CAS!

And now for the cute cute image that we are showing today from Teeny Bikini.......this adorable bus!!  Eek!  I love it!  Here I went with a fun color combination of orange and pink.  I think it works well with this image.  I also used the peace heart from Everything's Owlright to stamp my background.

I wanted to ground my bus and so I messy stitched a couple of lines.  Kinda fun effect and my first time doing this!  I think I did mention too that this font is just FUN and I LOVE it!  This is my favorite sentiment from this set.  Life is good.....it is isn't it?

Whew!  That was fun!  Seriously, I really enjoyed working with this month's stamps.....Kim's designs are fresh and unique.  Now you need to hop on over to the other DT blogs for even more inspiration with the new stamps for June!  Remember, the first person to order will receive a set from next month's release for free!  I love hearing your feedback and reading your comments and so appreciate the time you spend doing it!  Thanks to you my blog friends!

Wilson Designs Release Day 1

Yippee!!!  The day is here where I get to share my cards using the newest Wilson Designs stamps!!!  However, we did save the "main images" from both sets to be shown tomorrow so you'll just have to stop by tomorrow too!!  teehee

First off using Stamp Set #1.....I have to share this card.  Truly a favorite of the bunch.  IMHO.  Yes, my first card is not so CAS but full of detail!  Sometimes it is fun to keep adding things!    A while back, I ran across a card using this sand look for the beach.  I knew this technique would be perfect to use with this set!  You can find the link for the video tutorial over at Jenny's blog here (a great blog BTW).  A few punched waves, die cut cloud, and cut out sun were added along with this adorable little beach hut!  Goodness....isn't that surfboard adorable done up in polka dots?  My hut was colored in with Copics and then I used my colorless blender to add some wavy lines.

For my next card using the new set............I combined it with the sun image from Nauti-Cool and the frame image from Everything's Owlright.  I first sponged a strip of Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass that I had masked off.  Then I masked my strip to stamp my suns across that.  The sentiment was continually stamped to the bottom of the cardfront....this is such a great new font for the sentiments.  My blue background for the teeny bikini was also sponged using this ink.....I LOVE these inks.  My frame was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white ink and then cut out.

Next up.....my cards using Stamp Set #2.  Very CAS card where I've used the Scor-Pal and Scor-Bug to add just the right amount of texture.  Add in a little bit of Copic highlights and whalaaa!  This card is for some special friends of ours.  They will love it!

And lastly, a more feminine approach to BABY.  This one is just so sweet and I've mixed it up with the polka dot image from Scoot Away with Me set.  I love love that polka dot image.....small enough and so easy to line up!!!  I thought this fun shaped card was perfect to go along with the baby theme.  This baby set was inspired by Jaclyn Miller.

Ok, now I want to hear what you think!!!  This release has been so fun.......I hope you enjoyed visiting today!  I always appreciate your sweet comments here on the blog.  So to keep things moving, hop on over to the rest of the DT's blogs for even more inspiration using these new sets!  Remember to comment along the way as you never know what blog the winner is chosen from!  Until tomorrow.........:)

Wilson Designs: Release Day!

Hi everyone!  So what did you think of yesterdays projects?  Did you take some time to view the other DT blogs for even more inspiration with these 2 new sets?  Well, get ready because I am here to introduce the two newest stamp sets from Wilson Designs.

First up is the music set that you all were guessing............Lets Rock!

And the second set with the lady with the "bony legs".........hehe.........Scoot Away With Me.

Now I finally get to share my final projects using the main images with these two new sets!  Yippee!  Again in keeping with my CAS theme for this release is this cute card and I just love the sentiments here!

After stamping my background musical notes, I added some detail with the record stamp.  One of my Spellbinders circles cut this record stamp image out perfectly!  I love that!  By keeping it simple with just a few colors, it's easy to make this work quickly!

And finally here is my card using the Scooter and the "bony" legged woman!  I just love that comment!  :)
I did lots of paper piecing for this but otherwise kept it very simple using white space.

Here I used the line stamp from Simply Silhouettes.  Again versatility from these stamps!!  What better pattern paper to use?  Well, my Stella and Rose papers!!!  Here, I thought that the sky needed a little something and these clouds were a perfect fit!   My girl was colored in with Copic markers.....love those things!!

Ok, now today especially, I would LOVE to read your thoughts on these sets.  Now that you've seen the full reveal, what do you think?    Please comment on each of the DT blogs for a chance to win these stamp sets!
The first person to place an order will recieve our June set for FREE!  Thanks for stopping by!!
