Two Step Stamping

Hi everyone!  I have a quick little tutorial for you today!
When you look at your clear stamps, do you really look at them?  What I mean is....do you think about turning them over and stamping with the "WRONG" side?  Well, I wanted to share just how you can do this!  I used this technique on THIS Market Street Stamps card that was chosen for the Top 20 of the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol contest this summer!

Bright Side

Firstly, you need to choose a clear stamp that has an outline that is the same as the image.  To clarify, look at the back of the stamp to see if it would make the perfect outline for the actual stamp itself.  I chose to work with the Two Step Butterfly stamp that is only $5 and available in the MSS store.  The butterfly I used is the SOLID image (top image in the photo).  Here are my supplies:

Let's see, I do believe some neon is in.....now I don't have neon inks but I think this represents neon in what I remember wearing back "when" those neon shoestrings and tops were "in"!  LOL  So here, I've chosen inks that have a lighter shade and a coordinating darker shade.

Your first step is to place a small piece of double sided tape on one side of your clear block and place your stamp on the block so the back side is out.  Yes go ahead.....do it.  Ink up your lighter shade of color and stamp your image.  Clean your stamp and remove to now place on the other side of your block.  Now place your stamp the "normal" way on the block and ink up with the darker coordinating shade of color.  Now, centering the actual stamp is soo easy because you have the outline there as a guide!  When done, it gives the most perfect outline to your image!

Here are all 3 butterflies stamped first with the back of the stamp and then again with the normal side of the stamp.

Now for the finished card.........I love the results and it makes for very mailable card since there is no layering!

Happy Birthday

So I challenge you to go look through your stamps and see what stamp(s) you have that may work for this technique because it is FUN!  Thank you all for stopping by today.....have a great one!

Oh happy day!

Hi all!  I've got a sweet CAS card today using the newest EXCLUSIVE stamp from the May Market Fresh Kit......this awesome butterfly!  I have had some things going on lately and well, just not enough time to get it all done.  Pair that with our 21 yr old niece moving in with us this weekend!  Yikes......her room is NO way near clean!!

Is this not the most beautiful color palette here with this new kit?  {swoon}
I decided to use the butterfly and do a simple stamp and mask technique to the edge of some white cardstock.  I wish I'd had more time to re-do this card as that Pure Poppy ink I used just does NOT match the cardstock as seen here.  (it's the new shaped ink pad)

Oh Happy Day!

Have you checked out the latest MSS Paint the Town challenge?  If not, you most certainly need to!  You have the chance at winning a stamp set of choice ($15 value)!!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Soft and feminine.....

Hi all!  I have a card to share today that can also be seen over at the Market Street Stamps Blog.  It's no secret that I LOVE Market Street Stamps background stamps.  They are absolutely the best thing......full card size and excellent coverage.  Not to mention that MSS has TONS of designs to choose from!

I chose to work with Grace and Mesh for creating my background.  I stamped a whole panel of each and then just cut 1 1/4 inch strips and layered them on a scrap piece of cardstock.  The sentiment is from a new set called Simple Salutations (which I love).  It's nice to have a MSS sentiment set to use with all my MSS cards now!

Alright, I need to go and get to marking for my annual garage sale that starts tomorrow and I've only marked a couple of boxes!  Yikes!!!  Wish me luck!  We usually have HUGE success with our garage sales and I can't wait to get the sale started!

Market Street Stamps March New Release: Day 3

I'm back at you today with more goodness from Market Street Stamps for their fantastic March Release!  Today I get to share a great set called Blessings in Disguise along with a new BACKGROUND stamp called Candy Stripes. (I gave you a sneak peek yesterday)

This quote comes with 2 flourish type stamps (not shown here in my sample) but you can see on my card that the quote is fairly good size to make it the focal point of your card.  The embossing is done with a new M-Bossabilities folder from Spellbinders.  These folders have 2 designs in one folder!  Such a great idea.  Then I had to add in there a Royal Rolled Rose from MFT done in Ocean Tides cardstock

And just so you can see the new Background stamp, Candy Stripes, here is the card I shared yesterday as a sneak peak!
