Happy World Card Making Day!

Good evening friends!  Happy World Card Making Day!  I had very good intentions of getting up and creating but life happens.  So here I am posting on the evening of WCMD!  I am so happy to share this day with so many talented friends.  This is OUR day!  This is also a time to say 'thank you' for following along with me on my blog.....I know there is so much inspiration out there and I'm so glad you choose to stop by here!

Wiggle it

I had some laughs while creating this.......you see my dad fishes.  However, I do not see him "wiggling it"!  But how could I not use this sentiment to add a little humor??  Anyway, I hope he likes it.  I'm entering this in over at Embellish Magazine challenge.

Lots of embossing!

I had oh so good intentions of getting things done around my house and in my craft area today but when I got a call from the answering service at 1 am and then worked until 5:30, I had to work some sleep into my day!!  I have been wanting to play along with The Craft's Meow sketch challenge all month and well, you guessed it.  Tonight is the cut off for submitting.  So I did get a wee bit of time to make my card.  I had some fun with all the embossing........a technique I am loving lately especially with my Distress Inks.

This flower from Happiness Is.......by The Craft's Meow, is PERFECT for this technique!  The big floral image was stamped several times with Versamark and heat embossed with white Filigree embossing powder and then several shades of pinks and reds were sponged over the image.  My floral panel was also embossed but with clear embossing powder and then Antique Linen was sponged over the images and around them for the distressed effect.  My thatched background is a stamp that I LOVE.  LOVE.  LOVE.  It is the Envelope Pattern stamp from Hero Arts.  I also heat embossed it with clear EP.  My color scheme came from the Embellish Magazine's:  Embossed Flowers Color Trends Challenge.  This also fits the challenge over at Lily Pad Cards this month:  Emboss Resist.

{Just a Note}

VSWCMD2 and Embellish Magazine challenge

I have been seeing tons of these Verve sketches being done by my fellow blog friends
and I finally had time to play last night after the house was quiet!
I ordered 2 Verve stamp sets quite a while ago and figured I should give them some ink again!
So here is the first sketch I played with:

I used some new (to me) paper by October Afternoon for my side panel.  It
matches one side of the Diamonds Impression Plate from PTI perfectly!

The leaves were stamped in Versamark and heat embossed on Soft Stone carstock.
It is just the softest grey there is....I love it.  I don't know why I had never opened it until just recently!

Here is the color inspiration piece from Embellish magazine and I hope my stamped leaf
will do for "background stamping".

Thanks for stopping by and stay posted because I played with another Verve sketch last
night too and will post that later today.

{Wishing You}

Embellish Squares Color Challenge

I finally get to post my card for this challenge!  I'm sure some of you know that one of my favorite
color combinations is purple and green.  So when I saw Embellish Magazine's
color challenge using my favorite colors.......I HAD to play along!

Did you notice the stamp set?  Yep, I had this out making my card before the
PTI Senior Design Team projects this month!  Coincidence!
I bought Flower Garden and Flower Garden Sentiments from a fellow PTI forum friend a while
back when fellow Paper Doll,  Lee Anne, had showcased this set for a whole week.
Well, I just had to buy it!

Thanks for stopping by today!
