Cupcakes and more Cupcakes!

Hi blog friends!  I am enjoying some quiet time in my stamp room while the rest of the house is still sleeping.......shh.....Don't tell but we're skipping church today.  :)  I have a Cupcake card to share today that uses the Cupcake Collection from PTI.  I am loving this set.  I know, I know.....It's been out for a long time (and I've had it since it was released) but I've been wanting to get more use out of some of my older sets.  What a better chance to use it than for a little girl's birthday!

It's kinda hard to see since I covered it up with my focal point but the white cardstock circle is impressed using the Polka Dot IP from PTI.  I think it gives such great texture to this card!  Again I used the awesome paper from Echo Park Springtime collection.  My layout came from the latest Mojo Monday sketch

Did you think my card looked familiar?  Well, it's part of the ensemble I made that I posted yesterday for the Wee Memories challenge for birthdays and parties!  Take a peek at everything together.

Wee Memories #76

We're back for another edition of the Wee Memories Challenge!  This week we're celebrating Birthdays and Parties.

Next weekend, my daughter has a friend's birthday party to go to.  So I took this opportunity to make a Birthday tag and a Gift Card envelope as we're not sure yet what we're getting her friend.  I mean she IS just 6 yrs old.........so that could change tonight or tomorrow or right now for that matter!  :)

I thought it was about time to get some use out of my Cupcake Collection Dies from PTI.  Pair these with the coordinating stamp set, you have a great match!

This week's fantastic sponsor is Nikki Sivils Scrapbooker and the winner of this challenge wins a Paper Prize Pack!  Who could use more paper?  :)  We love seeing all your cards week after week, so keep them coming!

Clean and Simple #109

Today's card is based off the sketch from the Clean and Simple Stamping blog.
I fell in love with this sketch and had to play along.

I sent this off with my daughter to a birthday party last weekend.
I just loving using Cupcake Collection for little girls parties.....this one was cupcakes and tea!

That button twine is making it's way onto lots of my cards
lately......check out The Twinery.  This is where mine came from!  I bought the
sampler pack (at the suggestion of my friend Jen) and found some old wooden
spools at a garage sale to wind my twine on.

Thanks for visiting!

Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #16: A sketch

This challenge is for the Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #16 hosted by Lee Ann.  It is based off a sketch from Go-To Sketches magazine and is a sketch by Betsy Veldman.  Here is my card....kinda fun.  I sent this card off with my daughter for one of her friends' birthday parties this weekend.

I, like some others, didn't have any round cards so I had to draw my own and try to cut out in a circle!
That was really really hard.  I need to invest in larger circle Nesties!

I am loving this sweet baker's twine from Martha Stewart that I got on
clearance last year after Christmas.
Here is the sketch that my card is based off of.

Why don't you come and play along with our challenges?  We keep them open for 3 weeks for you to link
up your cards!!  We'd love to see what you make!!

Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #3

Well, here's another Papertrey Paper Dolls challenge card.....this one done just under the wire!
This was a fun one because I RARELY make a square card!  This challenge was hosted by

Sorry this is not the greatest picture (taken inside).....we've been having LOTS of bad weather around us here today in Kansas so I could not get something made earlier but now that I am forced to be in the basement, I can stamp!

The colors for this card actually came from a shirt of my daughters!  I must give thanks to Gymboree for this colorful card!  I've used Dark Chocolate, Berry Sorbet, New Leaf, Lemon Tart, and Hibiscus Burst.
This one was so fun to make using the Distress Stripes from PTI.  Lots of layering here.....almost a little too much but I kept going and going!!  :)

Here's the sketch from this week's Paper Doll's challenge.  Why don't you come play with us some week?  We have new challenges every Thursday!!  Thanks Suzanne for a great sketch!!

Papertrey Paper Dolls Challenge #2

So, here we have another great sketch for this week's Paper Doll Challenge!  This week it was hosted by Meg and you can find her sketch over at the Paper Doll blog.  Why don't you try out this weeks sketch and play along with us?  My card uses a lot of kraft cardstock and pink!!

Holy moly, did I use a lot of background stamps on this card?!!!  5 total background sets!!  It was fun inking them up to make the panels for this challenge!  I also dug out my neglected Cupcake Collection set.

Nothing too fancy about this card........just a lot of stamping!  Here is a close-up pic of the layers on that cupcake!!

Here is the sketch my card was based off of this week.  We welcome ANYONE to come play with our challenges....you just never know what it will be!!
