Hello!

I've been enjoying the PTI 7th Anniversary challenges this week.  I've paired up the Recipe Card Challenges (color and sketch) for a challenge that was posted yesterday......use a word as a focal point!  I love this idea as it lends itself to my CAS style.

Here I've die cut the 'hello' word die from Shadowy Gray glitter cardstock from DCWV.......seriously LOVE this stuff.  (Glitzy Glitter by DCWV)  I chose the color scheme of Simply Chartreuse, Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Pure Poppy, and Smokey Shadow and paired it up with the angled sketch.  (see below)  On my cardstock strips, I've stamped some mini stripes using Versamark and the Super Stripes stamps.

Reverse Confetti February Blog Hop!

2.8.14#2

It’s the month of LOVE and what could be better than to start it off with a Blog Hop from REVERSECONFETTI?!  With the release of 6 new stamp sets (including our new QuirkyCuties line) and 3 new Confetti Cuts Dies last month, you are sure to have some inspiration for this holiday.  We invite you to hop along with the Confetti Crew, Challenge Crew, and a few other friends today as we share our cards and projects.

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have made it here from Daniela Dobson’s blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all the new Reverse Confetti stamp sets!

I have fallen in love with a certain paper pad by Teresa Collins......You are my Happy.  It's the colors, the patterns, or perhaps the tiny hearts and elephants.  Anyway, this collection inspired my color combo for today's hop card!  I've color blocked a scratch piece of cardstock using 1/2" strips of cardstock, die cut into a tag shape using Tag Me Dies, stamped my sentiment from Crushin' and then die cutting a heart from the center using the larger heart die from Love Notes Dies.  I then layered my color blocked stamped heart with 5 more heart die cuts for lots of dimension!

2.8.14

I hope you’ve enjoyed hopping with us today. Be sure and hop with us on the 8th of EVERY MONTH for more REVERSE CONFETTI inspiration! Now it’s time to hop on over to Debbie Olson’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find the hop order and list of all the participating designers over on the Reverse Confetti blog.

A few things before you hop along though, just to keep you “in the know”…
February’s SKETCH FOR YOU TO TRY is open for you to play along.  Click HERE for a chance to win.  AND, be on the lookout for a NEW COLOR challenge we will be introducing on February 16th and another way to win!
Celebrate the creative side of you!

PTI Anniversary Challenge!

Another quick post for a challenge over at PTI for their Anniversary celebration!  Today's challenge was to use one of the printables from the designers on a card.  They can be found HERE.

I was immediately drawn to the project life type image "i just love you" by Heather Nichols and wanted it to take center stage.  So with a little misting and ink splatters, I layered her image with foam adhesive over the splatters!

I just love you

Wplus9 Comfort Zone Challenge!

I had a little time tonight to play along with some challenges out there that I could not pass up.
A comfort zone challenge was right up my alley!  Thanks to Wplus9 for this one as they are celebrating their 4th Birthday with a Comfort Zone Challenge!
Happy Birthday Wishes Wplus9!!!

I've done a little chalkboard look with some chalkboard paper from DCWV.  Using Wplus9 white ink, this technique was easy!!!  A few dots of white Enamel Accents to the flower centers and it was finished.  Easy Peasy.

You make life colorful!

I've got some adorable school Valentines my daughter is taking this year.  I've had this idea for a long time and finally when all the school supplies went on clearance this fall, I bought enough boxes of these 24ct. Crayola Crayons for her to use.  If I remember right, I paid less than 50 cents a piece!   I love that these are going to be a "sweet free" treat for her classmates!

We started by designing our word "colorful" in a Word document......and yes, Payton helped me with all of this.  She even knew (by name) which font she wanted to use even before we started!!!  After printing out one sheet of these.......we trimmed down to make bands to wrap the crayon boxes.  We then decided to stamp out the words......you make life......using some Reverse Confetti stamps (Sweet Thing) and adding a border stamp using Whole Lotta Hearts.

2.6.14

What I enjoyed most about this was that Payton and I could work on this together.  I happily helped (like with dimensions, scoring, etc.) but then she had fun stamping and assembling!

Lil' Inker Designs February Release: Day 3

Welcome back to the last day of inspiration for the Lil' Inker Designs February release!!!  You should have arrived from the talented Alyssa's blog.......but if not, you can start back at the beginning at the Lil' Inker Designs blog.

Laura has designed the CUTEST gift card holder this month.....Give a Hoot Gift Card Holder Die!!!  I traditionally give my kids a "mini" handmade valentine that I "deliver" to their mailboxes (ones I decorated years ago from the dollar spot at Target).  My kids LOVE getting mail and sweet goodies inside!!  I decided to use the Give a Hoot Die more as a mini card!!  I've paper pieced the wings and beak with papers from Cupid's Arrow by MME.

AmyOwl1

To make my owl "stand up", I've simple cut a small piece of cardstock, scored, folded, and adhered to the back of the diecut.  I've stamped a few hearts from the set:  Stay Beautiful.  Here's the handwritten message to my daughter inside..........

AmyOwl3

One more quick card using It's today, right?  This will be go-to set for sure for those anniversaries, engagements, weddings, etc.  I can't wait to use this set more!
