Merry & Bright

Hi everyone!  I'm here with a festive holiday card that really didn't take any time at all!!!  I'm excited to see the chalkboard trend continuing and here I've paired it with vellum!  If you've visited my blog lately......I've been using vellum a LOT and I LOVE it!!!  I think it's just a gorgeous paper and it gives so much more depth to a project.  For instance.....Look at this striped paper.  I love how the vellum "muted" the striped paper and let the sentiment circle take center stage!  A few sequins and some red glitter tape was added for the bling factor!

The sentiment is from Merry & Bright and was heat embossed with white Filigree embossing powder as was the circular scroll frame from Swirly Twirly Tags.  Both of these stamp sets are from Neat & Tangled!!

Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me!

25 Days of Christmas Tags

****If you are here for my Reverse Confetti Blog Hop post.......click HERE or scroll down****

I've made quite a few tags this year for gifts and YES I'm going to use them!  So I was excited to help my friend Tracey celebrate tags during her 25 days of Tags feature!!!  Have you seen her posts?  Amazing guests and fabulous tags......Thank you Tracey!!

My tag features my favorite winter set from Verve.......Glad Tidings along with the coordinating die Sweet Scallop Tag Die.  I decided to try watercoloring with my Wink of Stella pen.  After stamping, I simply watercolored where I wanted my shimmer!!!  Love the muted watercolor look with the shimmer!  Note:  I used the Wink of Stella pen over Dye and Pigment ink and it worked on both!!!

Here is a better angle to see all the shimmer from the Wink of Stella pen:

Reverse Confetti December Blog Hop!

12.8.13 #2

It’s the 8th of the month –Blog Hop time from REVERSE CONFETTI!  Last month’s release was full of holiday magic as well as some gorgeous everyday sentiments.  As we look forward to the holidays, it’s now time to start thinking of those small gifts, tags, treats, or just sweet notes of encouragement to spread the “Merry” to our friends, family and coworkers.  The Confetti Crew and a few other pals have designed some great cards and projects to give you just the creative spark you’ll need to make some of your very own RC magic happen!

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog, and you should have made it here from Daniela Dobson's blog. It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using all of Reverse Confetti’s amazing stamp sets!  Don't forget to leave a comment along the way for a chance to win a $15 Reverse Confetti GC!!

I love to use my dies to create cards......Here I've used the Sweet Treat Tent die to make a card.  I simply laid my folded cardstock over the die making sure not to extend it over the side of the fold and die cut.  I then trimmed the flaps of the die off and stamped my card with stripes from So Stripey.    I stamped and cut several of the arrows from Arrows 'n Elements  and added those with foam adhesive.  I used 2 different sentiment stamps (Bring on the Merry and Dream in Color) and selectively inked my sentiments exactly the way I wanted it to read!  I LOVE LOVE this about Reverse Confetti's KEY Words collection!!!

It's no secret that I love "stitching".......so when I laid eyes on this Small Heart Doily die with the stitching detail, I was in love!!!  I used the Large Heart Doily to die cut the NEW Schoolhouse Red cardstock (from SSS).....isn't it just a gorgeous red color?  There is something about a simple layout of die cut hearts both done in colored cardstock and glitter cardstock that is so pleasing to the eye!  What you can't see from my photo is that the main panel has shimmer spray all over it!  :)

Love you tons

A closeup photo to show the stitching details on the Small Heart Doily die........oh and see those tiny hearts on the sentiment banner?  They are from the Large Doily Die extras that I saved!!!

Speaking of the banner......notice the color of my sentiment?  Yep!  It's MATCHING Schoolhouse
Red INK!!!  If you would like more information on the new ink from SSS, I must refer you to Jennifer McGuire as she did a fantastic video comparison on the new inks!!  Check it out her blog HERE.

Just a note (tags).......

Hi everyone!  I've been meaning to share these little tags I made a few weeks ago.  I like to give little goodies every now and then......to teachers, friends, neighbors.  I am always scrambling to make a little tag, so I've made some up to quickly attach to my goodies!

I've used the new Tag Me Dies from Reverse Confetti and stamped them with So Stripey.  I added in a foam mounted little arrow from Arrows 'N Elements and a sentiment from Lots to Say.

Seriously......simple, EASY tags!!  I wanted them to be simple because let's face it......they will be thrown away after the goodies are gone (disclaimer: goodies=chocolate)!!!

CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: Out on a Limb

Here it is CAS-ual Fridays Challenge time again......this week its all about trees!!!
As I took the challenge......."parts" of trees....hehe

For this challenge, I decided I would use the Pine Sprigs Die from PoppyStamps to create my own festive swag.  I've layered a small stamped folded banner die from Simon Says Stamp over the top and added a coordinating twine bow.

Tip:  Scoring a "frame" around an obvious focal point really adds interest to a layout.  Try it!
