Hello! I am here to help with a very special event......Layton's Legacy Card Drive & Fundraiser for NICU Parents. Lea Lawson has a bit about this card drive in her own words:
"Today a dream of mine is coming true, as this Card Drive & Fundraiser goes live in honor of my sweet little bear, Layton Caleb. Hi friends! In case you don't know me, my name is Lea Lawson & I've been part of this wonderful papercrafting industry since 2002. Today is extremely special to me, and let me introduce the baby behind the blog hop!
Meet Layton - our little fighter and hero for 5 months & 7 days. Layton came into this world 11 weeks early on June 9th, 2016 with 2 serious health conditions. He endured more medically on a daily basis than most adults face in an entire lifetime. And on November 17, 2016 he joined his big sister in Heaven.
We were given those 5 months with Layton thanks to the level 4 NICU & amazing medical staff at The University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. There are 50 beds in that NICU, and it is ALWAYS full. In honor of Layton's birthday, I am raising money to purchase substantial Starbucks gift cards that can be given to these parents as they find themselves thrust into NICU life."

Below is the mood board that Lea used when she began planning Layton's nursery. All the cards in the hop today are inspired by this. There is an Inlinkz link below if you want to see more inspiration! For more information on the whole card drive, sponsors, and prizes, make sure to visit Lea's blog!
The woodsy theme of Layton's nursery is just adorable, everything from the mountains, to the animals, to the colors.
I used many older Lil' Inker Designs products to create my mountainscape scene! I started with the sun rays. Using the Wrappers Delight: Sunburst Die, I die cut using light yellow cardstock and added stitching to the rays using the Stitched Mats: Long & Skinny Rectangles.
For the mountains, I used the Dual Stitched Triangle Dies and my Deckle scissors from EONS ago! To create my border, I used the Stitched Mats: Dual Stitched Rectangles. My sentiment is from an older set that coordinated with the Mini Envelopes Dies & Accessories.
Amy!! Those mountains!! I would have NEVER thought to use those triangles as mountains...and now that is all I'm ever going to want to do with them! Lol!

ReplyDeleteI am so loving this hop and why they are having it. Little Layton is so adorable! I hope when I get to Heaven I get to meet him. I am so glad to be making some cards for him and for all the tiny little babies in the NICU. I know I have the right colors but I'm not sure I have the right stamps. I may have to go shopping! LOL My favorite color in the whole wide world is yellow so I am guessing I really love your card. I also love those water droplets! I have some and they add just the right something to any card. Thank you to all the companies who are offering prizes. I hope I can win something but even if I don't, I am doing something good for all those mom's and dad's. That makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteso beautiful! Love the strong and uplifting feel of this card.
