I am so honored to be alongside my Reverse Confetti DT friends with this blog hop to send love to our friend Jen del Muro during her breast cancer journey. Not only do we want to lift Jen up but also raise awareness for breast cancer. Please, I ask that you get checked, check yourself, whatever......do it. Schedule it. It will save your life!
Jen--I have known you for many years in the crafty world but I also KNOW you personally. I want to send out this to you......you have inspired me and put things into focus for me with your journey. I wish we lived closer so I could give you HUGS all the time! I can't wait for that girls weekend when this is all over! You name the place and time! Love you!
Here's a little bit about Jen and her story:
"Jen was diagnosed with breast cancer toward the end of last year. She's been dealt a pretty bad hand as far as the treatment for her type of aggressive cancer, but the prognosis is good. This year will be quiet the journey and battle, but she is a strong and very motivated woman. She's done lots of reading up on how she can take on a positive role in fighting her cancer from all angles, including diet and exercise. With only a couple of treatments under her belt so far, she is looking and feeling good, and plans to keep it that way! Her mantra has become a viral hashtag among her friends and crafty peers - #beastmode - and it totally fits Jen's personality! We love her!"
This card was made with Jen in mind.......so many of her wonderful products both old(er) and new were used! I started with the Woodgrain Confetti Cuts. I wanted the woodgrain to really show up on this dark brown panel......so I inked up the woodgrain panel die with white pigment ink....heavily. I ran it through my Big Shot and was left with this impressed, white, woodgrain pattern. Since I inked the panel up well, some of the white pigment ink transferred to my panel around the woodgrain lines. To fix this, I used an eraser over my panel and to emove all the excess ink!
My sentiment from Crazy About You was white heat embossed onto a strip of vellum and attached to the back of the woodgrain panel. A few layered heart dies from XOXO Hearts Confetti Cuts.were added in some of the new colors from Reverse Confetti (Rose, Flamingo, and Piggy Bank). The woodgrain panel was adhered with foam adhesive to a notecard layered with pattern paper from True Love (which was cut using the Office Edges Confetti Cuts to give the stitched detail).
