Buttons....Buttons....

So are the rest of you following all the PTI anniversary challenges?  Wow!  There are a lot and I've chosen to play along with using buttons in a creative, unique way!  Well since PTI is coming out with their own line of stamps to make button cards, I thought, "hey!  I have some of those".  I scored big this past summer when I found a LOAD of these vintage buttons still on their cards!  This particular button card had 1957 stamped on the back!  So instead of hoarding my supplies (something my friend Jen and I talked about today), I decided to get out some things that I have had since last summer!

The button card:

My card:

Not only did I use my vintage button card find, I made my own paper buttons!  I die cut the smallest Spellbinders circles, punched holes, and threaded the buttons.  I did stamp my buttons with an image from Background Basics: Botanicals.

I don't have the Love Lives Here stamp set YET but I do have the dies and have been itching to use this tiny house.  I masked off the house portion to stamp Haystack Pallette ink for the rooftop.  Then using Background Basics: Text Style to add some text to the house portion.  My house is layered on a Sweet Blush die cut circle from the Love Lives Here dies and then layered further on a Martha Stewart decorative tag.  Everything you see has been shabbied up with Haystack Pallette ink with a sponge.

The colors were inspired by this week's Play Date Cafe challenge for vintage and pink/kraft and also by ColourQ for virtually the same colors......so I am sending this over!  I also stamped on some pattern paper and Dana, from Kismet, Art, and Life, challenged us to do this on over at Do More With Less blog.

  21. Amy, this is beyond beautiful!! I love what you've done here. I was *way* inspired by yesterday's PTI release of the button card products and I immediately ran to the button box I inherited from my Gramma to look for button cards, too!! I was playing around with an idea for those to use for these same challenges, but ultimately went with a vintage seed packet instead. But that button card idea? I'll be back!!! You are so lucky to have found a pretty pink button card to use, though. All mine are cream with black or navy text. Anyhoo--your card ROCKS!!!
