Hello and Welcome! I am so excited to be a part of the My Monthly Hero Blog Hop this month! Hero Arts has always been a favorite company of mine since I began stamping so to create with one of the My Monthly Hero Kits was such an honor!
This month's kit takes you on an African safari or into the movie Lion King! Not gonna lie, I may have sang a few bars of "hakuna matata"! The kit is available for a limited time only - once it's gone, it's gone. Kits begin shipping from Hero Arts on Friday June 9. You can now subscribe to receive the kit monthly and never miss one! The kit value is over $70......but only costs $34.99.
My first card uses the main kit plus the Tribal Stripes Bold Prints Cling Stamp. I started by clear heat embossing the Tribal Stripes onto a black cardstock panel with Hero Arts Clear Embossing Powder. Next, I created my sunset using the die included in the My Monthly Hero kit. I used a few Distress Inks for blending out my sky. I love that all the images are silhouettes so stamping them in bold black completed my scene.

My second card uses lots of the tiny silhouette animals from the main stamp set to make my own background paper. I added a strip of brown shimmer paper (from the kit) to the top and bottom for just a bit of shine since this is more of a masculine design. A simple sentiment flag stapled to the side finishes this off.

I love the clear embossed background on your first card. It is very effective especially with the gorgeous colours used for the sunset look. Your second card is a reminder that cards can look simple but still be effective. Thank you.
