AEIHeartUChallenge: Sequins!

Hi everyone!  I had some time to create for "me" and knew I wanted to play along with the AEIHeartUChallenge by Avery Elle.

My wonderful blog friend, Heather Campbell, is so talented.  She DREW these amazing Storybook animals!  Now I must admit, I am not much of a colorer but these images don't need much!  I am in LOVE!  (and there are matching dies too!) ----Thank you Heather!

Since the challenge theme is sequins.......I decided to make a shooting star out of clear sequins to coordinate with the Wish Big sentiment that was stamped on a speech bubble die from Oh Yeah

I'm going to send this over to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!

Whimsy Stamps blog Amy Kolling Alanna Moses Becky Carafa Debbie Eastman Heather Pulvirenti Iris Wiechmann (GDT) Jen Carter Simonne Clay Denise Lynn
I paired up Thanks a Million and Basic Backgrounds and Borders for my card.  I used the striped background to stamp stripes on a piece of scratch cardstock with black ink, trimmed, and adhered to my card base.  I stamped the sentiment and stars in various inks including Delicata Gold ink.  After adding a strip of gold foil paper to that panel, it was all adhered using foam adhesive.

Hi everyone and welcome to DAY 2 of the ...

This week we are releasing 3 new clear stamp sets and 4 coordinating die/die sets, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and all good Whimsy Stamps retailers from TOMORROW. Yesterday we introduced THANKS A MILLION and BASIC BACKGROUNDS AND BORDERS 1, and today we are excited to introduce you to SAY WHAT? stamp sets and dies! Hop on over to the Whimsy blog to take a peek at the new products.

For my card I've used Say What? stamp set and speech bubble die.  I fell in love with this set as soon as I saw the Y.O.L.O. stamp so I knew it had to be one of the first I used!  I chose some colorful papers from Lawn Fawn (favorite paper collection of mine almost EVER) and layered some diecut speech bubbles that were white embossed with various sentiments from the set.

Lil' Inker Designs August Release: Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the Lil' Inker Designs August Release!   You should have arrived from the  Lil' Inker Designs blog.   But guess what??  The whole new release is now available and can be found HERE!!!

I've used the new Stitched Ghost Dies, Boo & Faces Stamps, and Spooky Word Die for today's card.

I started by diecutting the largest ghost out of Soft Stone cardstock and once out of white cardstock.  I stamped the eyes from Boo & Faces Stamps with black ink onto the white ghost and set it aside.  Did you see that the ghost dies have the NEGATIVE stitching too??  Love how this adds to this image!  I added my Soft Stone diecut layer over some dark gray cardstock and inlaid the white ghost beneath.  The Spooky Word Die looks fabulous layered over the cutout ghost!  (Spooky was stamped with Hero Arts Envelope Pattern stamp)

This month Lil' Inker Designs is celebrating our 4th birthday!!!!!  To celebrate we have one more goodie we're releasing today as a bonus item! It's something you've been asking us for and what better way to celebrate our fourth year of fun than with a goodie especially for you our lovely, amazing and supportive customers and friends!

Let's introduce....... Stitched Mats: Rounded Rectangles! This is a follow up release to our wildly popular Stitched Mats: Rectangles. You'll receive a set of 6 individual nested dies on a magnetic sheet for easy storage and each die in this set cuts a rounded rectangle (which is a bit different from our original set because the largest die in our original set only cut a stitched border). If you love our original set or have been waiting for a rounded set, now's the time!!

Now for the fun part!  There is a $15 gift certificate up for grabs for one lucky commenter along the way!  One lucky winner is chosen for each day!!

Thanks for holding on here with me for my 3rd post of the day!  I am once again Guesting over on the My Favorite Things blog today!  In case you missed it, here is what I shared using some amazing stamps and Die-namics.

I am always in need of wedding/anniversary/love-themed cards so I thought I’d share some that I’ve made.
I am enjoying the shaker card trend again and I thought this one would be fitting for an “anytime” card for your loved one. I’ve used Blueprints 16 to die cut my frame from Steel Grey Card Stock and stamped it with the Diagonal Stripes Background with black ink.

AmyYou&Me

My sentiment, from Always and Forever, was stamped with various inks onto white card stock as the backdrop for my shaker. The shaker is filled with mini star sequins, from Pretty Pink Posh, and the frame is embellished with enamel dots and a die-cut star from Blueprints 16 and adhered to Electric Red cardstock.

AmyYou&Me2

I love to use my dies to emboss as much as I love using them to die cut. I wanted to add some elegance but die cutting the large Peek-a-Boo Heart Frames was too much so I embossed it into a panel of Steel Grey Card Stock. My sentiment, from Together Forever, was stamped with white ink into the center of the heart with a few glittery enamel dots placed beneath.

AmyHeart

Now let’s talk about that glittery banner border embellishing the top of my card. I’ve die cut the mini banners from Blueprints 16 out of glitter paper and aligned them up at the top of my main panel. A simple line of stitching across the banners, leaving the ends loose, adds to the elegant feel and also anchors them securely in place to the card.

AmyHeart2

Thanks again goes out to My Favorite Things for inviting me to guest on the blog!

Clearly Whimsy Stamps August Release: Day 1

***If you are here for my Lil' Inker Designs new release post, please scroll down!!***

Hi everyone and welcome to the first sneak peek day of the ...

Over the next 3 days we will reveal the new August 2014 Clearly Whimsy Stamps products. We are releasing 3 new clear stamp sets and 4 dies/die sets this week, and they will be available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and selected Whimsy Stamps retailers on Saturday. This month we are thrilled to welcome Iris Wiechmann as our Guest Designer. Iris will be joining us for our 3 day release event and sharing her wonderful creations featuring our August release. Welcome Iris! Today we are revealing the Thanks A Million 4x6” stamp set and Basic Backgrounds & Borders 1 4x6” stamp set, together with the Thanks large word die and the Stitched Borders die set. Hop on over to the Whimsy blog for more details.

For my card, I used the Stitched Borders Dies to create this wavy rainbow look.  To create my look, I diecut one wavy line and then simply turned my die around and lined it up so that it would be a good size and ran it through again....giving me wavy rainbow strips!

I diecut the Thanks Large Word Die with white cardstock 4 times and glued them together for some dimension.  Here is a close-up view:

Lil' Inker Designs August Release: Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Lil' Inker Designs August Release!   You should have arrived from the  Lil' Inker Designs blog.   But guess what??  The whole new release is now available and can be found HERE!!!

I'm sharing more from this great release today by using the Classic Halloween Stamps.  I've created a frame using the Stitched Mats: Rectangles by diecutting 2 at a time!!  I've done this twice using the various sizes of Stitched Rectangles.  Over my stamped image, I splattered some watered down Distress Inks over the top.  I finished up with a scattering of sequins on the frame.

My second card using this amazing Ghost Border Die Set.  I kept this fairly simple by diecutting the ghost from white cardstock and I love that Laura designed this with the stitching!  She included 3 sets of "eyes" for the ghost in this set.  My sentiment is from the Boo & Faces Stamps set.  I foam adhered my ghost border to a polka dot card base.

Lil' Inker Designs August Release: Day 1

Welcome to the Lil' Inker Designs August Release!  Fabulous new dies and stamp sets are coming out this week.....just you wait!  You should have arrived from the  Lil' Inker Designs blog.   But guess what??  The whole new release is now available and can be found HERE!!!

I'm sharing a project using these new stamp sets and dies:  Sending You, Sending Pretty Mail, Stitched Envelope Liner Die, and Mini Envie Dies/Accessories.  I love this set so much......Laura did such a fabulous job with this collection!

I'm starting out with my card using the Mini Envie Dies/Accessories.  There are 2 sizes of Envie dies and I've used the larger one here so that I could stamp a sentiment from Sending You across the bottom.  I embellished the envie with a tiny heart die also from the Accessories set.

Envie

Again Laura has released an awesome word die set...... "sending you".  I've die cut a few and glued them together for dimension.

Closeup

Next up.......a wonderful stamp set to embellish your ENVIES called Send Pretty Mail.  This set has so many fun little phrases to stamp onto your envies!!!  BTW.....you can now purchase your A2 size envies form Lil' Inker Designs!

Here's how I stamped the front of my envie:

Enviefront

And the back of my envie:

Envieback

One last fun DIE to share is the new Stitched Envelope Liner Die.  There is something to be said about having a finished look to your envie and especially to the recipient when he/she opens it.  Take a look at the detail:
