SFYTT with Reverse Confetti!

Reverse Confetti has an awesome sketch every month called A Sketch for You to Try (SFYTT)

SFYTTAmy2

I started my card with a Distress Ink background.  I die cut several stars from Oh My Stars Confetti Cuts and layered them over a strip of white cardstock.  The sentiment, from Celebrate Cake, was white heat embossed onto a small strip of teal cardstock that was adhered with foam adhesive.

Whoops........this should have gone up this morning!  I've taken a break from creating and blogging this holiday season to spend time off with the family just enjoying life.  So......my apologies about this being late!

The Clearly Whimsy Stamps DT has a fabulous new challenge blog called showCASe your style.  You do NOT have to use Whimsy Stamps products to play along but if you do, the gift certificate will be more if you are the winner!

The challenge runs 2 weeks and has this theme

The last holiday card for the season.....using some amazing stamps and dies from Whimsy Stamps.  I've used Tremendous Triangles/Dies and Christmas Greetings.  The dies I used are the star and triangle from Tremendous Triangles die set.

Friendship Hop!

12.19.14#2

Today the Whimsy DT members are hosting a  friendship hop in honor of a special member of the Whimsy Stamps family, Simonne Clay. Simonne has been a fixture here at Whimsy for many years and we all just wanted to show our appreciation for all that she does for each of us and for sharing her amazing talent as an illustrator.

Not only have I had the pleasure of designing with this talented illustrator's designs, I have been chatting with Simonne over the past few months and I'm so glad to call her a friend!  Simonne, I am so glad we've "chatted" and truly wish you the best in what you do after Whimsy.  I hope that I will get to work with you again in the future!  xoxo

So, this card is for YOU!  I used the FIRST sets I was sent as a guest for Whimsy almost a year ago.  They are still my favorites:  Sweet as Candy and Sweet as Candy Sentiments!

I masked off the top portion of my card and stamped the candy repeatedly on the bottom to create my own pattern paper.  Using the 'Sweet' word die, I layered several together and centered them across my candy panel.

Here is the full list of blog hop participants and there are some prizes up over on the Whimsy blog!

Tag You're It! Challenge #12

I'm here today with a card for the Tag You're It! Challenge!  I loved the non-traditional colors Tracey used on her tag so I went with them!

I started out by embossing a trimmed down piece of white cardstock with a polka dot embossing folder in my stash.  For my tag portion of my card, I used the tag from Tag Me, Too by Reverse Confetti.  A sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments was stamped in black at the bottom of my tag.

12.16.14

I die cut several snowflakes from the Let it Snow Confetti Cuts by Reverse Confetti and layered the larger ones behind the tag and 2 smaller ones I adhered directly to my tag.  A few clear sequins were added for the shine.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Candy Cane

AveryElleCurtainCall2

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

We have a new sponsor, Avery Elle, for the Curtain Call Inspiration: Candy Cane!  A randomly selected participant in the Candy Cane challenge will receive a $20 Avery Elle gift certificate, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

I wanted to try and combine this challenge with the current AEI♥U Challenge using "Inlaid Diecuts".  I pulled the colors from the candy canes for my background by using pattern paper.  After stamping and diecutting all my pieces from the Winter Wreath stamp set/dies, I simply pieced them all back in like a puzzle.  This card is what I would call an "almost one-layer card".  I refrained from mounting my diecut panel with foam adhesive....yeah I know, I have issues.  The only dimension this card has is that the berries are coated with Glossy Accents.  :)

showCASe your style challenge #4

The Clearly Whimsy Stamps DT has a fabulous new challenge blog called showCASe your style.  You do NOT have to use Whimsy Stamps products to play along but if you do, the gift certificate will be more if you are the winner!

The challenge runs 2 weeks and uses this sketch!

I absolutely LOVE this sketch!  For a CAS girl, this was perfect!!  I went with some silver glittery DCWV Glitzy Glitter paper strips.  I embossed images and sentiment from Sparkke & Shine from Whimy Stamps in silver embossing powder.  A few sequins for "bling" were added!

We'd LOVE to see your CAS cards using this fun sketch over at

I'm also playing along with the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge for "bling it on" and the challenge over at CASology for "SILVER".

Watercolor Celebrate!

I can't get enough of this die!  It's the Alternating Diagonals Card Panel from Frantic Stamper.  I know I used it last week but I have so many ideas for this die that I wanted to share another!

I started by diecutting the panel and leaving all the pieces in and then adhering the whole panel to a thin piece of cardstock that was trimmed down slightly smaller than the panel.  With this panel, I did a Distress Ink watercolor wash.  Using some of the star dies from Stars and Stripes Photo Card Die, I added a few stars and the sentiment from this die set as well.

I'm going to link this up over at my friend Virginia's blog for the current Virginia's View Challenge which is "all things distressed"!!

Thanks for sharing a part of your day with me!

December Reverse Confetti Blog Hop!

Amy3

Welcome to the December Reverse Confetti Blog Hop!  This month we are changing things up a bit with sharing more than just a card.......Pretty Packaging!

The hop started over on the Reverse Confetti blog and I am the next stop! It would be worth your while to start at the beginning of the hop, so you don’t miss a thing. We have tons of inspiration for you to see using Reverse Confetti stamp sets and dies!

*********************

Since I give lots of gift cards during the holidays, I've used the Tagged Tote to make a reusable gift card holder out of felt.  I started by diecutting 2 of the totes out of gray felt and one rectangle piece.  Now, I'm no seamstress so I just assembled using hot glue.  Very easy to do.

Amy2

I didn't take a photo of this step but instead of diecutting the "handle" that comes with the Tagged Tote Die, I left it out because I wanted to be able to stitch a button on the back flap so I could "button" my Tote closed!  I simply cut a slit in the front flap and buttoned closed!  To cover up the back flap where I'd stitched my button on, I diecut a small circle and hot glued it over the top to hide the stitching to give it a finished look.

Amy5

Attached to my button, is a removable tag using Circles and Scallops Confetti Cuts and North Pole Wishes Confetti Cuts.  I thought it would be fun to include a mini 3x3 card using a sentiment from Seasonal Sentiments and more holly to keep with the theme of my gift.

Amy4

One last detail I included was stamping my own tissue paper to wrap my gift card in for the inside of my tote.  Here's the tissue paper......nothing fancy but gives the whole gift a polished look!
