CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: Embossing

Welcome back to another edition of the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge!  This week's challenge is all about embossing.....any kind is fine!  Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Ellen Hutson!!!

I often forget about embossing folders but they give such amazing dimension and I really should use them more often!.  So I decided to use dry embossing for my card today.  I've used a Sizzix embossing folder......no idea what it's called as I borrowed it from a friend!

I've embossed just the lower portion front portion of my card base.  I have then layered a red border to my Merry Christmas panel and adhered using foam adhesive.

Birthday wishes

Hi everyone!  I wanted to share one of my favorite cards I've made recently......using some "old" Verve goodies and some "new" Verve goodies!

This new Poppy Birthday set from Verve is most definitely going to be a favorite of mine.  With Poppy dies to match, it's going to get lots of use in my studio!  I broke up the floral panel using a tiny little border stamp from the Borderline set as well as a sentiment.

Let's talk about those silver embellishments.....they are mini nailheads that I picked up from a recent trip to Archivers.  They are the PERFECT embellishment for mailing!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!  I couldn't let this holiday pass by without posting my kiddos mini 3x3 cards I made for them!  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.....here's a pic of our pumpkins we carved last night.  Payton and I worked on the witch, Brett worked on the winking pumpkin, and dad?  Yes.....a wildcat!

So back to my kiddos cards......they look for them every holiday to be in their "mailboxes" on the morning of the holiday.  I set them out at their "spot" at the breakfast table with a sweet treat.  Kinda fun and it's become a tradition!  Using some adorable Reverse Confetti stamps, these came together very quickly!

Masculine card.....

***This is my second post of the day so if you are here for my 12 Kits of Occasions post, please click HERE or scroll down***

I recently had some time to play around a bit more with my November Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.  Many more uses of this stamp set came to me.......this one being a totally masculine card for my hubby.  Easy peasy.....the little banners were hand cut out (but there is a die) and one was elevated with foam tape.

Birthday Wishes!

Hi everyone!  I have a fun little wrap and tag to share using 2 of my favorite companies.......Verve Stamps and Timeless Twine!  I found these gift boxes on clearance way back and thought they would be perfect to embellish since they were a solid color.

I've used these beautiful flowers from Surely Goodness and leaves from Dream Big.....both from Verve (and their matching dies), to create a tag for my box.  I just think the Tag and Raspberry Pink Twine add so much interest to the otherwise plain box.

Happy Halloween!

Hi everyone!  Since Halloween is just over a week away, I thought I'd share another card I made this season.  This is a spooky "cute" Halloween card using stamps from Neat & Tangled

I enjoy the polaroid look because it narrows down the creative space you have when creating a scene.  Here I simply stamped my scene onto white cardstock and layered it on a black panel.  Layering your stamped panel onto a bright colored background really makes the panel standout.

****For my Simon Says Stamp Card Kit Blog Hop post and goody bag giveaway......click HEREYou have until Oct. 24 at 6pm EST to comment for your chance to win!****

I thought I'd share another card I made with the Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit.  The kit includes so many fun papers from the Amy Tangerine Cut and Paste collection, gorgeous color, and cute embellishments.  And did I mention an awesome exclusive stamp set?  They truly should have named this kit......."love this" to match the stamp set!  :)

I decided to randomly stamp my own paper (playing off the color scheme in the kit) using the circle stamps that are included in this set.  I love that there is a striped, polka dot, and solid circle included.  To add some interest, I stamped a strip of cardstock with the striped border stamp and positioned it at an angle on my card.

Happy Birthday

Count your blessings......

****For my Simon Says Stamp Card Kit Blog Hop post and goody bag giveaway......click HERE****

Yesterday we celebrated my daughter's 8th birthday.....actually we celebrated all weekend.  :)  She is super special in my life and one of the reasons I "count my blessings" today.  I have no idea how I was given such a sweet little girl......

We celebrated by having her birthday party at a local bakery shop where the girls got to decorate their chefs hat and decorate cupcakes.  They even got to take the aprons home with them!

So I did whittle some time this weekend to play with some of my favorite fall stamps this year from......Reverse Confetti!  I've used Count your Rainbows and Forever Fall to create this fall card.  To create my 2 toned acorn......I did cut my stamp apart to make it easier to ink up.

I chose to work with the newest Fri-Die:  Funky Square Tag and stamp set: Christmas Carols.  (Links are found below)  This came together soo quickly and I can't wait to make more of these for gift card giving this holiday.  I picked up these little burlap bags and embellished clothespins in the dollar bins at Michaels.  So all I had to do was made a simple sweet tag to clip on!!!

Lil' Inker Designs Release Hop {Day 4}

Welcome to Day 4 of the new release from Lil' Inker Designs and this month we are celebrating the holidays!!  These new goodies will SURE make it easy to whip up some cards for your loved ones!

You should have arrived here from the amazing Alyssa Scritchfield......if not, please start back at the beginning over on the Lil' Inker Designs blog

Today I'm sharing a card that I absolutely LOVE!!!  I had so much fun with this card using the new dies......Christmas Bits Dies.  After die cutting lots of little trees, I glued down the centers and arranged them making sure that the ends were all lifted off the card.  My sentiment was selectively stamped onto a Flags and Tags Die.  The glitter was all added by dabbing my glue pen all over the "branches" and adding Martha Stewart Glitter.
