OTWC #43

Hi everyone!  This week's issue of Off The Wall Craftiness inspiration is just plain and simple.
Black and White.
Take a look at the inspiration photo.

I could NOT wait to ink up last month's new Wilson Designs stamp set: Simply Silhouettes.
Have I mentioned just how much I like this set? Especially this little girl silhouette. Soo sweet!
This card will be linked up over at The Moxie Fab World for their new challenge:  The Appearance of Cameos Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!!

I was telling my friend Jen about my obsession lately with embossing folders and just had to use another new one.  I believe it is by Cuttlebug and goes perfectly with my favorite frame from Simply Silhouettes.

This week's sponsor is Third Coast Stamps.  Want to win a sweet prize?  Just go link up a new project over at Off The Wall Craftiness and remember if you use Wilson Designs stamps, you get an extra chance to win!  Just let Kim know in the comments!

Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge!

It's time for the Papertrey Blog Hop!  I haven't participated in a couple of months but this challenge
was sure one I could do!  Here's the challenge:

"This month's blog hop challenge involves you challenging yourself to use a Papertrey stamp set that has yet to see ink or even one that might be collecting a little dust!  Go through your stash and see what little used treasure it might hold. "

I didn't have to dig too far for this challenge.....as I had yet to ink up the Love Birds stamp set.  I created 2 cards for the challenge both using the same color scheme.

This card is just plain CAS but I did add in a die cut open scallop from MFT and one rounded corner.
I love how this turned out!  I wanted to add some stick pins in there but it actually was too much.  :)
This card will be linked up over at Hand Stamped Sentiments blog for their challenge this week to use HEARTS.  Go check them out!

My second card was fun to create too as I used my new Edger dies from PTI......I'm in heaven!  These are so easy to line up!  Pair that with the new Mat Stack die shape and Music IP.....these are going to be some go-to tools for sure!

Here is a better shot of the impression made with the Music IP.

This card follows the sketch this week from Card Patterns.....sketch 99.

Now, you need to keep checking out the rest of the Blog Hop participants on the list over on Nichole's blog.  Have a great Blog Hop Day!

OTWC #42

I'm back today with this week's Off the Wall Craftiness color inspiration
challenge!  We have some fun, bright colors this week!

We also have a brand new sponsor, Inspired Stamps.
Antoinette (owner of Inspired Stamps) was super sweet to send the DT
some goodies to design with this week!  Go check out her blog:

I used this great set called Flower Buds.  I knew when I received this stamp what
I wanted to do with it.  I love how this looks UN-colored!  What do you think?
I did do some masking to make my flower cluster.
I then used one of the smaller flowers to make a background pattern
on my white cardstock.

We would love to see what you create with the colors this week
at Off the Wall Craftiness!  There is a super sweet little
prize of a GIFT CERTIFICATE to Inspired Stamps this week too!

{Much Appreciated}

PDCC#64 and Card Patterns Sketch 98

Hi everyone!  I'm back today after a long extended weekend due
to Martin Luther King Jr. day.  I was away with my hubby this past weekend
on a short trip to Memphis, Tennessee.  He is heavily involved with St.Jude Hospital
through a radio-athon at the radio station he works for.  He had the
opportunity to spend some time at St.Jude and with some patients to learn
more about what this fantastic organization is all about and what it can offer kids!
I, on the other hand, wasn't able to attend so I did a little sight-seeing while
he was busy with meetings.  I had the opportunity to go to the Civil Rights Museum
there in Memphis.  My goodness.....what a history lesson that was!
This museum is located at the Lorraine Motel where MLK was assassinated and
they have preserved the rooms at the hotel as they would have been that day.
Let's just say that I now have a better understanding of why we celebrate MLK day
here in the US.  If you get the chance, you must go tour this museum there in Memphis
as well as maybe take in some blues music at BB Kings, eat some BBQ, ride the
trolley, and take in some local shopping!

Alright, back to the regular scheduled programming here on the blog!

First:  the color inspiration from Play Date Cafe by Julie

Then:  the sketch from Card Patterns by Nina

Here is my card using these fantastic challenges!

I have had these pins in my stash for a LONG time and they worked
perfectly with these colors!

I'd love to hear what you think!  Here's to a great week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Wilson Designs: Release Day!

Ok, today is the day.........for the full reveal of the newest addition to
the Wilson Designs lineup!

Are you ready to see all those cute images and ones yet to be revealed?
I can't wait to show you my samples using this set!
Let's get started!

Introducing:  Simply Silhouettes

Now that I've revealed the "other" stamps, you can bet those are what
I used for my cards today!  Here goes!
(This post is a bit long so sit back and enjoy!!)

These frames are soo much fun especially paired with this fun
little girl silhouette!    I love love the details in these frames!  Don't you
like the detail of the pearls in her hair?
I used the "line stamp" here to make my own background.

Next up, is my FAVORITE card of today's post!! (I have one more so don't leave yet!)
This card just kinda 'fell together' and became my favorite.

Using the same silhouette image, I paired it again with
the line stamp and made my own striped pattern.
I layered my silhouette onto a red Wilton doily.....love love this!
AND if you know me, I've been terrified to use these beautiful
flourish gems!  Well, I got brave and used one!  Please be proud of me as
I've hoarded this one for quite some time.  :)
My white card base was impressed with the Linen side of the PTI impression plate.
It gives just the right amout of texture!
fyi:  I have never made a card without a sentiment before but I just couldn't put one on here!

My last card is TOTALLY a case of Maile Belles.  Yes, I case but
I usually change things up some.  Well, I did but only in that I
used one of Kim's new frames to make Maile's doily card!
I fell in love with her design of this card here and knew once I saw Kim's
frames, that I could make one of my own!  I love Maile's style, flair, and
designs!  I know there are those of you out there that feel this way too!
If you want to know how this was created, click here......I used the
same concept.  No need to reinvent the wheel.

The key to this design is to have patience......the ink needs to dry!
Add some colored gems, ribbon, and sentiment and you have
a finished card!  Love the results.  Thanks Maile!

Well, I would love to hear what you think of this new stamp set from
Wilson Designs.  Make sure to leave a comment for your chance to win this
set not only on my blog but the other DT blogs as well.  We don't know
where the winner will come from!  Thanks soo much for visiting!

Wilson Designs: Release Day #1

Alright friends, I'm here today with the newest stamp set from
Wilson Designs!  I am usually a last minute stamper (shhh.....don't tell but I think I
work best this way, always have).  But when I saw this set, I
had lots of ideas in my head!

Up first, is this little card set of 3X3 cards.  Love this size...perfect to
tuck away in a little gift!

I used several of the silhouette images and paired them with various
sentiments from Kim's other sets that you can find at Wilson Designs
I think my favorite little image is this adorable chair with the heart back.
The horizontal stripe on each card is actually a line stamp and has so many
other uses that you will see on my cards tomorrow!

Next up is a card using a sentiment found in this set.  I stamped it over and
over to make my own pattern label!  I love the font this sentiment is in!

I loved the chance to use more of that yummy felt from The Felt Store
from my card over at OTWC.  Here I've die cut some hearts and
stitched some twine on them!  I'm sending this over to the CARDS blog
for their cards using felt this week!

Well, that's it for today!  Make sure to check out the other DT creations
on their blogs for more inspiration using this newest stamp set!!!  Tomorrow's post will go up at 11pm CST so make sure to check back here for my favorite samples of this set!

Moxie Fab: Tuesday Trigger and Mojo Monday 172

***Edited with better photos (I hope!).  I took them in my new light box!***

Hello friends!  I have been wanting to play along with 2 particular challenges
this week and finally had some time because I MADE time
to participate this morning!  Isn't that how it is sometimes?!

Let's get on to the first challenge:  Moxie Fab Trigger.  OMG.
Isn't this white cake with all it's layered goodness just beautiful?

And let's just pair this gorgeous picture with the Mojo Monday sketch
from Julee this week! !

So here is my interpretation of both challenges.  I LOVE how it turned out!
I used some Shimmer White cardstock from PTI.....that is beautiful stuff.

I used a sentiment from a fairly new Verve stamp set called Text Objects.
This sentiment fit perfectly in the circlular layer of this sketch.
My square layer was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Fairly CAS!

Thanks for stopping by on this "cold" winter day (at least here in Kansas)!!

{Where There is Love}
Stamps:  Text Objects (Verve)
Paper:  Stamper's Select White, Shimmer White (both PTI)
