Practicing Creativity Designs: just a hint!!

Hello!  Is everyone ready for a Practicing Creativity Designs release?
It's finally here.....well, almost!  Today along with the fabulous DT, I will be giving you a teeny hint.
Please visit the list below for everyone's hint for the first set we will be releasing.

It is Holiday/Christmas time around here and one of the many things my family enjoys doing
is watching movies, especially holiday movies.
So, here's my hint:
"One of my favorite holiday movies is National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"
I can still remember when I went to see this with my whole family as a kid.......It was a big deal.
My dad even went.....this was unheard of!  Anyway, this was and has always been
a movie that makes me laugh....certainly a great sequel!

To celebrate the holidays, I inked up several PCD stamp sets to make this card for you today.
Can you guess which ones they are?

My "tree" and star are from the You're Dandy stamp set and my tree garland
is made using the stems for the wee flowers from Barefoot Summer
I also used a small portion of a new stamp set that you will get to see later this week
for my sentiment.  You will like, I promise!!

Now go visit the rest of the list for their "hints" too and be ready for a great release
starting tomorrow!

{Wishing You}

Paper:  Aqua Mist, Pure Poppy, and Rustic White (all PTI)

I have to be honest that I haven't
been in the mood to stamp for a couple of weeks and I wanted to thank everyone

so I'm making this short!

Just an update and HUGE blog candy.....

I wanted to pop on here and fill you in on why I've been "gone" from my blog over the past week or so.
First, I work as a nurse and this past week I had a scary "threat" against me in particular.  I can't
go into it anymore than that but it resulted in having security with me when I was at work.
I believe this "threat" period is over and can get back to my real life.
Second, I had a patient this past week get very ill and pass away.....he was MY age.
This kinda hit home for me and I didn't take it particularly well at all.
Third, I recently have been undergoing the testing for having LASIK done and
my procedure was yesterday and I can now see without glasses/contacts!
It's wonderful.....but I still have a ways to go as I have some existing chronic eye issues to
continue to work on.  This will take some time and possibly will have to deal with
for the rest of my life.  I hope that my life will be more normal this next week as
we all head into the holiday season.

Now, onto the reason for this non-card blog entry!
A fellow DT member, Jenny,  from Wilson Designs is having one heck of a
You must go check it out and spread the word!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have wonderful weekend!

OTWC #34

Welcome back!  It's time for another OTWC challenge!
This week's colors were a bit challenging for me but I kept looking at that
gorgeous inspiration photo Kim put together.  Take a look....

For my card today, I used a little help by the way of pattern paper.
I broke out my Chloe's Closet DP from Making Memories to use along with
my Beautiful Blooms stamp set.

I know you should try to remember the rule of "3's" but I just couldn't figure out
the placement of the third button so I left it off.  :)

I am linking this card up for the current challenge over at Wee Memories this week.
Go get your pattern paper and create!

PDCC #56 sponsored by Wilson Designs!

Welcome to the PDCC #56 this week!  This is my first time playing along with the PDCC
and it certainly won't be the last!  Look at these colors!  This week was sponsored
by Wilson Designs so the DT inked up Snowy Wishes for this one.
Here is the color story for this week:

Here is my card for this challenge using Snowy Wishes available at Wilson Designs!
I made another CAS card using this adorable snowman that you can create using this set!

I do have to admit something about this card..........I don't like to admit mistakes or boo boos
but I did get a fingerprint smudge after my card was COMPLETELY done!
Don't see it?  Well, that's because I ended up just cutting off the bottom part of
my card just below the sentiment so my card is a little shorter than an A2 size!

Do you like that polka dotted border?  Those are the "buttons" stamp for the snowman's belly
that are included with this set!  I thought it would be fun to use them in a different way
instead of using ribbon.  Boy that was hard!  LOL

Anyway, let's see you come play along with PDCC this week!  There are some great
prizes from the sponsors this week.  Have a wonderful day!

I also linked this card up for the Creative Inspirations Challenge blog!

{Warm Holiday Wishes}
Stamps:  Snowy Wishes (Wilson Designs)
Paper:  Stamper's Select White, True Black

Embossing powder with glitter, Mat Stack 4 Die, Glue Pen

OTWC #33

Hello everyone!  I have neglected my little blog here since the release of the newest
stamp set from Wilson Designs.  I was actually on vacation last week during the release so I was
posting and editing on our laptop in our hotel!

Now, some of you know that I've had a bit of a "scare" at work this week.  I have not been in
the mood to stamp because of this disturbing news the last 2 days.  However, I had a card to make
for a co-worker's baby shower so I used this week's OTWC Challenge colors for it!
This is my first week joining the Off The Wall Craftiness DT....I'm loving the colors!!
Here are the inspiration photos for this week.

This week is sponsored by May Arts.

Here is my card and it will be given to her tomorrow at work.  I hope she likes it!
The inside is decorated too but I already have it sealed to deliver!  Oh well!

The layout for this card came from the Papertrey Paper Dolls blog.....the
challenge was issued by my friend, Jen. I think this card is pretty self-explanatory but I wanted
to mention that the twine used as the vine was actually colored in with my Copics!
The little vine image with the sweet pea stamp had stamped so light that I thought I would
make my own!  Go check out the latest PPD challenge.....this card just may be featured!

This week's sponsor is May Arts. Please visit Off The Wall Craftiness for more information
and your chance to win.
Now, I need you to visit the other DT blogs for more inspiration using these colors!

Jaclyn--Please welcome her to our team!

Wilson Designs Sneak Peek: Release Day!

"Owl-right", is everyone excited to see the newest stamp set from Wilson Designs today?
I have been keeping you in the dark for long enough!
First of all, the name of the set is "Everythings Owl-right!"  Kinda catchy!
(My hubby had a little something to do with naming this set!)

Everythings Owl-right is a hoot-a-licious, mod set, complete with washi tape, background builders, polaroid frame, main images and fun sentiments!  This set sells for $12.99 and will be available in
the Wilson Designs store.

My cards today focus on the owl as the main image.  I created this first card
by stamping a "ledge" to make it look like the owl is
sitting on a brick wall.  The polka dots were stamped as a background as well.
Isn't this embossing folder awesome?  I was surprised to find it matches perfectly
with the ring image in Kim's set!  You can find it here.

My next card uses those rings as a background builder.  I love how this card turned out!
I colored the owl in with Copics and used foam tape to make him sit on the branch!

Leave your comments on the DT blogs and mine during the release for the
chance to win this set!!! The winner can be chosen from any of the 5 blogs
so make sure you visit them all for the most chances to win!!!

Thank you so much for coming along on this release with us!  Thank you Kim and the

Wilson Designs Sneak Peek: Day 1

Today the Wilson Designs sneak peeks start!  I'm so excited as this is my "first" release!
Kim designed this cute cute set and I am so honored to work along with her
and the Design Team.  It was so fun yesterday to read all the ideas of what this set is about!
The main image and name of the set will be released on tomorrow's post.
I just might have had a hand in finding a name for this set (well, my hubby thought of the name)!!
Let's get started, shall we?

My first card uses several daisy images and a polaroid frame stamp from this set.
For this card, I actually stamped the frame on black cardstock and cut out the frame.
Yes, it took some time but soo worth it!

The Happy Birthday sentiment was heat embossed with white embossing powder.
My daisy centers are actually some small sticker gems by EK Success!
I love to add some added details like this.

My second card uses more of the daisies and the frame again but in
a different way.  I masked off the center "square" and a small portion of the bottom
to make space for my sentiment!  My frame was masked off as well, to stamp the
daisies "inside" the frame.  (You'll understand this a bit better once the full set is
revealed tomorrow)

Lastly, are a group of small cards that are CAS!  I wanted to show something that
was a little less "fussy" and how YOU can do CAS!  These cards also use
the sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping.

Well, that's it for today but please check out my fellow Design Team members
for even more inspiration using this set!
Leave your comments on the DT blogs and here during the release for the chance
to win this set!!! The winner can be chosen from any of the 5 blogs so make
sure you visit them all for the most chances to win!!!

Have a great week and we'll see you back here tomorrow for the
