Not so sure about this one....

I created this card a while back when I got my new Damask Designs by PTI in the mail. I'm not really liking how this turned out but it was the first time using this set and I know that there are so many other possibilities where this set is concerned. So, I just need to sit down and play more with it!! For this card, I did exclusively use PTI products except for the ribbon. I think what I don't like is that you can't really read the sentiment.....I should have stamped "off" the damask design first and then stamped. Now what I do like about this card is that I used my Nestabilities again to cut and emboss the panel. When I was done embossing, I stippled brown on the panel before removing the template. So it looks like yet another layer!! Here's a close-up of the image to see the embossing and sentiment better!

Here's a cutie!!

I told you all that I HAVE been creating!! Here is a super cute card I made for a little girl in my daughter's daycare who's birthday party was last Sunday. This card measures something like 2 X 3....I don't know, I honestly had like 5 minutes to make it and used some scraps I had in my huge pile. Check out Barb's post about challenging yourself to use those scraps!! Again I used a Studio G stamp (clear $1 stamps) for this one. These tiny stamps are perfect for creating that small card for a gift. I found these fairy sets a couple of weeks ago at Michael's and thought it was perfect to ink it up for this occasion. Lookee here, I also used another EK Success punch. I told you, I LOVE these punches! I colored in the fairy using my water brush and watercolor crayons. All the stamps used on this card were in the same $1 set. Til the next post....stay warm...it's still cold here!

I've had my eye on....

these clear stamps for a few weeks now. I "found" them while blog hopping, etc. and can't honestly remember where. There She Goes stamps are so cute!! If you haven't heard of them before, why don't you check them out? They have just begun their April release countdown. I think I will break down this month and buy some. So, since I don't own any TSG stamps yet, I had to find one that I love. My favorite card in the TSG gallery (check it out here) was made by Maki Jones, TSG Trendsetters. This set is one on my list for sure called Slow and Steady!!

You've got to be kidding...

This Kansas weather!! Just a couple of days ago, I sent my son to school in shorts and now there's ice, wind, snow, slick roads, etc!! Ughhh....Anyway, I thought today I would get around to posting a card I made while my computer was getting some TLC last weekend.

This card uses a very cute Studio G Cupcake stamp I found at Michael's a couple of weeks ago. I just love how this turned out!! This stamp was just $1 and so fun to color in. I actually got out my SU markers for this one. Yes, I have a set from about 8 years ago and thought "I should use these". He he. The running stamp on the bottom as the background is a PTI set called Around and About Sentiments. Now, I have gotten a little carried away with buying the new EK Success border punches, but who wouldn't?? In this picture, it's hard to tell but it's a tiny diamond punched out along the scallop. I also used some of my nestabilities to cut and emboss the image panels. I'm still getting used to using these but I absolutely LOVE the look it gives. Well, now that my computer is working better, I have a couple of more posts scheduled to reveal some of the other things I've been working on lately. Here's another view of my card.

Hello Spring!!

Hello to you and hello to spring!! Isn't this weather (70's) just wonderful? I love this kind of weather......leaving your windows open and being able to be outside without sweating!! Anyway, just wanted to say that I have been creating lately, but have been having computer issues so today I thought I should probably write something on the blog to explain where I have been. This weekend was kinda a bummer for me......all the "angels" from my upline's group (The Angel Company) had a "roundup weekend" in Salina where they made projects, swapped, and just had some fun. I had to skip out because it was my Saturday to work.......do you know how hard this was knowing lots of my friends were there in my home town stamping and having fun? It was SOOO hard!!! I hope to get updates from a few "angel" friends soon about some of the projects....:) I have to make a decision soon about attending the annual TAC seminar in Wichita which is such fun and certainly memory making but AGAIN it is my Saturday to work!!! Ughhhh!!!! I have to try and trade Saturdays with someone to be able to go. Cross my fingers!! Hopefully, my computer will be on the mend and I can post the things I've been working on. Until then.......:)

A goal of mine....

is to start USING some stamp sets that I have bought and never have inked up!! I'm sure most of you out there are like this.....you become some sort of "collector" whether it's paper, embellishments, or stamps (like me). So for today's post, I've used a stamp set I bought not long ago at Michael's by Autumn Leaves. It is a clear set called Pretty Poppies....and I think this card is my favorite card that I've made in a long time!! I needed to make a birthday card for a friend of mine and this is what I came up with......I kinda didn't even want to send it. It like it THAT much. Anyway, I hope my friend enjoys it even though it is late getting to her.

All of the stamps used on this card were from that set except for the flower background used for the bottom of the card. This background came from a MS background set. And what about that wavey dotted border? Don't you just love this? A few weeks ago, I made my way to my local Michael's and found they had just stocked a new section of EK Success punches!! Let me just say that those coupons sure came in handy!! :)

Here is a close up of my embellishment....the poppy was paper pieced together, stickles to the center and raised with a dimensional. I LOVE how the leaves look.....I stamped them with Ripe Avocado ink from PTI but then dragged them across the ink pad before stamping. It gave them that striped/distressed look. The flourish looking square behind the flower was also a stamp from this set. All cardstock is PTI.......I am in LOVE with these coordinating colors of paper, ink, ribbon, and now buttons!! (Don't have these yet but maybe next time!)

These are adorable!!

Look at these super cute little "purses" I found the other day at my local Dillon's. There were 2 to a package and were on sale from Valentine's!! I knew the perfect thing to put in there and who to give it to. I had been saving a cute little TAC GWP stamp to give to my boss since she LOVES doggies. She has an entire room set up in her house for them with a bed and all!! It is just the cutest thing. Anyway, this is how I packaged this cute "paw print" stamp for her since she makes scrapbooks of her doggies!! The tag was made using Around and About Sentiments from PTI and a mini button for the center of the flower!!!

My sweet Valentines!!

I had said in an earlier post that I would post pics of my Valentine's this year, so here they are!! I didn't use Heart Prints as I thought I would, but instead Love Songs. Oh my gosh, how I love this set!! There are soooo many images to ink up!! This first one uses the envelope image. Since I don't have Polka Dot Basics yet, I had to improvise and use a MS background stamp for the dots on the lower half of the card. Other than that, all supplies are PTI. I love the look of the raised heart on the envelope.
Here are the Valentine's I made for my kiddos using the same Love Songs set from PTI but using different images. The first one uses the adorable ice cream cones. This is my #1 reason I love this set is that it is a two-step stamping set. You can color the ice cream one color and then color the cone another. The middle cone is popped up using a dimensional. The second card is using ithe balloon image and once again I chose to use a dimensional on one of the balloons and cover it using Prisma Glitter. Oh, I love the addition of the little heart button with hemp. It just added the right touch!! These cards were small in size so that they would fit inside the mailbox tins I made for them last Valentine's. They think it is so neat when they get "mail". :)

a CASE card for you

I needed to make a birthday card for my brother so I decided to get out one of my new PTI stamp sets......Forest Friends. I case'd the layout and the "deer" image/landscape from Debbie Olson and you can view her card here. I did want to change something so....I used some Amy Butler patterned paper from K&Co that I got on clearance. I like the colors of this card.....masculine cards are so hard for me to make. This set is so versatile....I can't wait to use it more!!
